Onwards and upwards
The original FS9 version came with Shoreham Airport which was great back in the day. With this package you get the planes instead without the scenery for FSX. So what do you get? Well a Cessna 152, Piper Tomahawk, Piper Seneca, Piper PA-28 Warrior and a Schweizer 300 helicopter. All the models are good value with loads of extra paintjobs. For the casual flyer, you can't go far wrong with this package as the aircraft are easy to fly without having to read a 400 page manual. There are other packages available now which offer more, bear in mind this was released years ago so is excellent value for money. A handy tip, make sure you update the package from Just Flight's website with the latest patches, otherwise you will encounter some major texture issues when using the 3D cockpits.

Flying Club X
This product may have been admirable in its day, but now the aircraft are terribly dated. The aircraft are FS9 native, therefore do not run as smoothly on FSX as they might considering their relative visual simplicity and lack of systems simulation. They have terribly low-res textures in the VC and the Seneca has an autopilot lacking in pitch hold capabilities. They are less visually appealing and in some cases, less immersive than the default FSX aircraft. They do fly better however, which is no mean feat!I am glad I purchased a used version, these GA aircraft cannot stand up against any of the Carenado ones in my hangar, and shall be collecting virtual dust.

Flying Club X Add-On for FSX or 2004
The aircraft are visually very realistic. I am a private pilot and owned a Tomahawk and a Warrior which is why I purchased Flying Club. I was disappointed with the avionics. Found them difficult to use and pretty poor really. The helicopter flight characteristics left something to be desired. However, an enjoyable package.

Poor flight models
I fly or have flown several of the aircraft on this CD. I did my PPL on a Tomahawk; I then flew C152s and I have a fair amount of time in Warriors. On paper the aircraft on this CD are more similar to the aircraft I fly than the defaults on FSX. However in practice I found them visually poorly rendered and the flight models were simply awful. Try stalling a Tomahawk in real life and you can easily find yourself on your back in a spin. The version in this package doesn't seem to bite at all.Whilst it's not uncommon for sim aircraft to fail to recreate conditions 'outside of the envelope' well - e.g. stalls, I didn't find them particularly realistic in normal flight either. Anyway, I found the aircraft painful to use and deleted them all after a day or two. A shame, as most of us fly aircraft more akin to these than the slick new aircraft in FSX.

Great fun
I have had Flying club X a while now,and it is still one of my favorites. A great idea and a must buy of any simmer.
