Professional grade antenna
Almost identical physical construction as the Flightaware 1090 antenna that I have used for years. As soon as I had the Piaware receiver configured, I started getting UAT signals. It will take some time to get enough statistics to compare the coverage with 1090, keeping in mind that most UAT equipped aircraft fly a lot lower than the commercial 1090 aircraft.

Excellent, works very well
Really big increase in distance

Good, better than the AirNav
It works maybe 30 to 35% better than the RB AirNav 978 antenna for plane range and position count, gets a few more planes too since the range is better.

Better range
Great antenna way better range but you will have to adjust the saturation level and gain to get it to work right on 978

Worth the investment
Boosted my message count/rate and range. Just installed inside the attic and there is a very noticeable improvement in my stats.

FlightAware 978 MHz Antenna
The antenna works really well for me. I didn't expect to get as many aircraft as on 1090 MHz but there are a few out there. Right now my antenna is quite low and after a while I'll move to a higher spot perhaps there will be more aircraft to track. I found that I had to have the accompanying 978 MHz filter installed or I tracked just a few aircraft.

Works great.
Works much better than a 1/4 wave isotropic antenna, well built and well priced for the build quality.Install the antenna as high as possible with least amount of feedline to get best UAT reception on 978MHz. If a long cable length is required I would recommend a preamp/filter installed as close to the antenna as possible to compensate for feedline losses.

Same quality as the 1090 antenna
This is built pretty much exactly the same as the 1090 FA antenna. Finally got to hook it up and test it and it works great. There is very limited 978 traffic around me, but the little there is it picks up.
