LAT Pulldown Low Row Cable Pull Down Machine with Dulex Back Pad and Removable Front Steel Foot Rest (VA- 2)

I just got this today, and managed to put it together in about an hour by myself. It was securely packaged, and they even put each type of bolt in it's own bag -- that is fantastic. I've put together lots of gym equipment, and this was one of the smoothest assemblies I've ever experienced. I've only been able to test it out for a few minutes, but so far it seems pretty smooth. The cable can slip off of the bottom pulley if you're not careful - so be aware of that, but aside from that, it seems great. I will update this review if anything changes.

the pulleys are very smooth, would be nice if they had some plates for weight storage because doing mid-rows the rack will move, but the seat position and length is short for taller people under 5'10 you will be ok but any taller doing seated lat pulldowns is a challenge.

After seeing the great reviews and not wanting to spend a thousand plus dollars on a selectorized lat machine I decided to buy this. I'm pretty disappointed so far and here's why:1. The machine is very wobbly and will almost cause you to fall off the seat if not prepared. The nuts and bolts are tightened as well as possible so maybe my machine is an outlier. I feel if the other machines were as unstable that it wouldn't have the good ratings it has on here.2. I bought Rogue Echo Bumper plates that fit perfectly on my olympic barbell but will not fit on the provided olympic sleeve so unless I remove the sleeves I'm unable to use any weight. This is probably my most disappointing discovery. If I remove the sleeve then the weights are very unstable. I'll be buying a steel set of olympic plates soon and hopefully they'll fit.3. The individual parts do not seem to be of a very good quality. I know this is a $250 lat machine, but they feel almost too low quality. The plate loaded mechanism moves around too much and the posts sway like palm trees in hurricane force winds.4. So far I can't see this machine being worth $250. I haven't been able to use it yet so it just sits in the corner of my gym. I may end up returning it if I can't find a use for it.EDIT 5/13/19: even with all of the issues this machine has if you can get weight loaded onto it the lat pulldown, press downs, and all other upper pulley exercises feel really good. I'm not too sure about the mid pulley. I've not used it yet but I assume maybe it could be used for face pulls. I went to use the lower pulley for curls and almost threw the entire machine behind me which of course was a surprise at first but now I see why the foot plate is there. The picture of that guy doing curls with the machine is false advertisement unless your curling air. The machine has to be bolted down or you have to step on the foot plate to keep it from flying. The lower pulley is complete garbage. The cable will not stay within the pulley and gets stuck on the upper portion of the exercise which I guess I can live with since the upper pulley is really what I wanted. Anyway still a bummer because this machine isn't worth the full price tag.Edit 1/31/20: Okay so I discovered something very interesting and totally unexpected which is going to cause me to add 1 star to this review to make it 3 stars. I have the Ironmaster dumbbell set that goes up to 120-125ibs and just out of curiosity the other day I wondered if the Ironmaster plates would fit onto the Lat machine and they do almost perfectly! That really surprised me and made loading weights onto it that much easier since my Rogue bumpers are very unstable on it. Still a wobbly machine with a "catchy" low pulley that is so bad at times I wonder why they even added it but I'm getting good use out of the upper pulley with Pulldowns, Pressdowns, and straightarm pressdowns.

I would like to have given this product 4 1/2 stars. I am happy with my purchase and the choice of this equipment. It arrived before the scheduled date and was very easy to assemble. Customer service is excellent. They contacted me when I bought and again after if was delivered to follow up on my satisfaction. My only complaints are that the lower pulley cable tends to come off the pulley and become stuck. It has actually damaged the protective coating on the cable. The solution to that problem is to make a conscious effort to not allow slack in the cable while exercising with it. To me, that’s a minor issue that I’m able to work around. Also, the adapter sleeves for the Olympic weights are annoying. When removing weights from the sleeves, you can’t help but take off the sleeves with the weights. They provide a small clamp to hold it in place, but you have to take off the clamp to take off the weights and that’s when the annoyance starts. Wish I could just slide the weights off and the adapter stayed in place. Other than those 2 issues, great product in my opinion. I would purchase it again for the same price.

I had one of these a few years ago from a different manufacturer, the same design. I think it is great for the price, especially if you lift in a slow movement style (HIT super slow). Make sure to grease all the bushings on the pulleys as you install them for smoothest operation.My only gripe with the machine is the seat is way way too far forward. It needs to be around 4 to 6 inches further back. But yes I would buy again.

Not as sturdy as I would have expected, cannot handle large weights. The entire assembly wobbles when weight is increase. But it is multi functional and can be used for a variety of workouts.

Bought this not expecting a lot. It is more than perfect for hitting the back and tris. The ab cruncher I found a tad weird but, might be because I am tall, not a deal breaker because the primary purpose it fills is A1.

All bolts and hardware in bags and marked. Assembly was about an hour and half. I’m a little ocd about assembly. I lay all parts out and check them. From there it’s a breeze. Smooth operation but may have trouble after extended use with a couple of pulleys that have no plastic bushing, but not really a problem. Excellent unit for the price
