Just got my first pieces of Catastrophic Creations modular wall system and we hung it today. I know my new kitty will love it, and I am pleased to own what feels like quality furniture, rather than the usual particle-board and carpet cat perches that makes the house feel like a cluttered daycare center. It is strong, sleek, and being modular, completely customizable to any space. The raceway can be mounted right or left of the hammock. I bought onyx. It is gorgeous!

Our two girls were prior feral rescues. Though being with us for years, they are different than domesticated and it took a little bit of coaxing to get them up on this. Their favorite treats and a couple weeks of patience did the trick. We started small with this one to be sure they would go for it, but felt they needed hang out in high areas, in our main living space. It looks great. They didn't get it, bless them, lol. Until that is, I put their favorite sherpa style blankie on it. Then they knew it was meant to stay on. There is also no more need for treats to get them on it because they love it. It's a quality product. Even so, I wish they were more affordable. I would have already ordered more. I'm really looking forward to seeing our girls confidence grow and their relationship get beyond tolerating one another. Even a couple of pieces could make a difference. Ours is paired next to a chair and a small kitty condo that acts as their starting point. That let us put this piece nice and high, just like cats like to be. Our next piece will stagger above it. Get what is within your means. I think it's worth it.

I like this over all, however the screws seemed to not hold in the stud as well in one of the shelves.. I’m not sure why. I loved it down a hair to try again and it seems better now, however I am worried it is going to rip out of the wall soonish when my cat starts really using it

First let me say that I am not an expert at attaching things to the wall. However, this was so hard. You must be absolute on your measurements and fingers crossed that your stud finder is correct. I attempted to attach it to two different walls and failed to do it properly twice. Even though it is wobbly, the cats still like it, so it has served its purpose. Just be prepared to take a LONG TIME making sure all of your measurements are correct before attaching and also, keep your fingers crossed.

I have this mounted in my eating area where I also have a work place set up. My cat loves to perch and rest on the top level when I work at the table.It is easy to install and I definitely recommend that it be mounted to studs for sturdiness.It took a few days, couple of weeks, for my cat to warm up to it. She's just slow that way with new adventures. Once she got used to it, she races up there when she sees treats placed there or when she wants to be near me, but look down on me as well. Typical cat.My only complaint is that it is rather expensive for just one length of 1x4 cut to size with a length of canvas/denim sandwiched between with mounting brackets. The cost of materials is rather minimal for the price of the item. That being said, although I could have made it myself, it is nice to have something that works and is build solidly. Most important, my cat loves it and it keeps her active with going up and down different heights for exercise and entertainment.

I could definitely see paying $50 or $60, maybe, for something like this--this specific item isn't too outrageously priced--but some of their products aren't much bigger and cost up to $350???? It's excessive for some 2x2x6 inch boards that have been sanded, stained, and clamped around a piece of canvas. I am not a carpenter but I'm going to make one of these. It'll probably take a day all told and probably cost about $20. I guess what I'm saying is that this IS a good product, it's a great idea and it looks nice, but even for a small business without factory manufacturing many of these are WAY too expensive.Also, side note that doesn't affect my star rating since it doesn't reflect on the product at all: I have an older house and the studs are farther apart. I had to add a drywall anchor to hang this. Be aware if you live in a house built before the 20s or 30s--these blocks are too close together to anchor into a stud.

I bought this to give my cat a "stepping stone" to get up on top of a tall bookcase (anchored to the wall for safety!) from other nearby furniture, so she could get her vertical space thing going on. After letting her get used to the shelf's presence for a few days I still hadn't seen her on it so I got her to chase a ribbon toy up on to it and that's all it took. Now it's her new favorite hangout and she loves lounging in the hammock.The item is of good quality and seemed very stable after mounted to the studs in wall. It came with plenty of clear instructions and all the hardware needed. I really liked the Onyx option to match my existing black furniture. It might seem a little pricey for what it is but I'm willing to pay a little more for quality handmade items and to support small businesses. I hope to add a couple more pieces soon to expand it into a little kitty jungle gym since she seems to like it.

Same quality product that I ordered a few months ago...I started with a bigger set from them. I was slightly deterred by the steep price (I bought the $168 set) but was satisfied once I got the set! It looks about as classy as cat furniture possibly can hahaha and my kitty is quite happy with it. One thing that was probably obvious to most people--you need to mount them with the L brackets facing up for the greatest structural integrity. I initially mounted mine with L brackets down and although they still held up OK the difference was drastic once I installed them correctly. Overall I'm very happy with the shelves and ordered this most recent one to add to my kitty play place wall. I would recommend spending the extra to get these higher quality pieces... seems like they'll last a long time. Be sure to use stud finders to make sure your kitty has a safe fortress!! There are a few companies providing cat wall furniture, but CatastrophicCreations are by far the best quality. If you are anything like me, you want your Kitten (or cat) to be able to get as much out of your home as possible and to be able to feel comfortable so items like this become essential.Like me you might look at the prices and think they are premium, but I can tell you honestly that you are paying for quality. Especially as I took the time to build some of my own cat furniture prior to shopping with these guys and while I feel proud of what I made, it makes me appreciate something of professional build which is what you get with these guys.Plus, it always feel extra nice to support a family launched brand that is around because of their love for cats. This Hammock is one of the lower priced products, it looks great on the wall and so it wont be my last.

This is great if you live in a small apartment. It takes up little space and gives your cats a whole new vantage point. My cats were quick to discover it and climb up there. It's surprisingly durable and sturdy as well.I loved the cards that came in the box, with some background info on the company and other products they offer. Me and my cats are looking forward to purchasing more in the future!

I like that it's neat and simple looking.

Easy to install my kitten loves it when she is able to jump on the first level and walk up to second level. She plays and sleeps on it. Another great product from Catastrophicreations, I hope they keep creating these functional, stylish products.

Don't select the unfinished/natural colour. They will deliver the wrong colour. It has happened that to me 3 times already!! Very very frustrating.
