Fantastic book from the wife of Pablo Escobar
I have read all kinds of books and articles on Pablo Escobar, his son Juan Pablo and his intersting book and now one of the best, descriptive books by his wife Victoria. It shares how they met, his rise to power, how she handled infidelity, her marriage to Pablo, their good and bad times together, after Pablo's death how she and her son handled the aftermath of his debts and their lives today. I was interested in how at a very young age she amassed a costly art collection and picked out the pieces that were in many homes that the couple owned. It is an inside perspective on how a women who loved, married and supported one of the most wanted drug cartel leaders in Mexico. I had a hard time putting this book down it was that good of a read!

Great Read
This is the best book written about Pablo Escobar thatโs out. What bravery to write it, what a strong woman to fight for the survival of her family. Such great insight and perspective. It was awful to learn how badly Pabloโs family treated his widow and children following her death. I wish the family peace.

Must Read!
Wow... Her story is one you need to read! I appreciate that she took responsibility for her actions and never supported all the horrendous things her husband did. She is so strong, and I feel for her and her family. I pray they have peace, are able to live โnormalโ lives, and are surrounded by people who support and encourage them nowadays. Theyโve been through so much!

A great read!
When I heard Pablo's wife finally after over 25 years was writing a book about her experiences with her husband, I knew I had to get it. It did not disappoint! A great read!

Undecided
A good book and well written but having finished I am somewhat undecided on how I feel about it. On the one hand Victoria does admonish Pablo's atrocities but on the other hand spends a lot of time writing about the pieces of artwork and sculptures she had obtained and the cost of such pieces as the time and money spent on building and dressing houses/apartments and the joy obtained from that. . She lived a very ostentatious life and no matter how young she was surely had to question where the money came from and the type of people her husband entertained. There is a passage in the book where the artwork (or loss of) is of more concern than anything else!I also find it very double faced to complain at the treatment of her children by officials when she put them in that position in the first place. How can you justify years of hiding in safe houses and allowing your children to witness the atrocities they did but then complain that Pablo's reputation is still haunting them years down the line. What on earth did she expect? I cannot comprehend, even after reading the book, how Victoria put her love for Pablo and the wealth associated with that over and above the safety and concern for her children. Do not then complain that their father's crimes were not theirs - you shouldn't have placed them in danger in the first place. A mothers love would not allow this to happen.Rather disappointed that I now feel how I do about the book as it was not as I had expected and do not feel it goes far enough in explaining why Victoria stayed with Pablo. Also rather annoyed by the revelation at the end, Fear or Love? I'd say neither when she willingly put the lives of her children in danger again and again!

Amazing story, definitely worth a read
The true story of Pablo Escobar by Victoria Henao. Definitely worth a read to know who Pablo truly was. The book depicts the whole truth, which many TV series about Escobar do not show, or even worse, portray Pablo in a positive and sympathising way.
