500 Best Muffin Recipes

Pretty disappointed in this book, I've tried on recipe, there are so me weird recipes my family won't like. Overall I wish I'd skipped it. Good shipping and service tho.

I've tried just one recipe so far--it turned out well. I have one of Brody's cookie cookbooks and use it often--I'm sure I'll use this one often, too.

I purchased this cookbook for my granddaughter's 14th birthday and found it so great that I had to get a second one for me. This is a beautifully illustrated book with recipes that are easy for the novice as well as the "old hand". Some other reviewers commented on the fact that some of the ingrediants were measured in metric amounts. I found that to be a plus. Gives my granddaughter an opportunity to practice her math skills. This is a great recipe book. My daughter looked at and now she wants one, too! This is the only muffin book you'll ever need. I recommend it.

This book is getting a spot right up front on my bookshelf! There are sooo many great and tasty muffin recipes in this book. So many of these "Several hundred" recipe books sound great title wise but the recipes when you look inside fall short of appeal because there are just so many ways you can make one thing. Brody did a great job of making the majority of these recipes sound great. I have only tried some of them but they've been delicious and I've got a list of those still to try!

The book arrived in mint condition and the recipes are excellent !! The print is larger than usual and easy to red. The variety of recipes would be hard to match.

I love muffins, making new ones, throwin in new ingredients...so how could I not love this book. It has EVERYTHING!

Unfortunately, without fail, every recipe I've tried from this book has been disappointing. The result has been muffins that just don't really taste good. Skip it.

This book is packed with tasty recipes for traditional, not-so-traditional, savoury, and low-fat muffins. There's sections dedicated to the busy baker and the child baker. She also includes recipes for jams, butters and toppings. Typically American muffins are lower in fat and sugar than British confectionaries so this book may not be for you. However, I find the idea very appealing since I find myself reducing the sugar content in most recipes - no complaints about the fat content!Her advice about baking cakes at the front is invaluable, the presentation of the recipes and method is simple and straightforward, there's a table of contents, and it's well indexed. (There's no conversion chart.) However, 3 out of 4 of the recipes I tried it did not work out. (Not enough liquid.) Despite this I was quite determined to persevere. There are too many tasty and/or unusual recipes I would like to try out including snow muffins.After I ordered Susan Reimer's Muffins Fast And Fantastic, it became clear to me why my recipes were failing. (Her notes at the start and end were very helpful.) The recipes in this book are in volume, not weight. Disregard the measures on the right side of the recipe and follow those on the left instead. You will need to purchase a set of measuring spoons and measuring cups, if you don't have them already, to do so. Also, all-purpose flour differs from plain flour so add an extra 1/4 cup for every cup listed.

I love to bake, so I was excited to get my hands on a copy of 500 Best Muffin Recipes. I assumed it would be a book I would turn to all the time once it was on my shelf.Well, it certainly is an impressive collection of recipes, if you are looking at sheer number and variety, but for a few reasons I have found this book a little bit disappointing.My main gripe is that it is almost impossible to get the book to stay open. It's a thick paperback with a stiff spine, so the only way it will stay open is if you hold it open, or if you place a very heavy object on the book (a large can of apple juice for example)--and even then it is nowhere near flat. I can't understand why cookbooks are routinely made this way. A spiral binding would have been so much more practical and that feature alone would have encouraged me to use the book more often.I find that although there is an impressive array of recipes here--you can find a muffin recipe for just about any odd combination of ingredients you have on hand--there really doesn't seem to be a lot of *good* recipes. Or perhaps the problem is merely that since there are so many recipes, it's hard to pick out the good ones! I've made about half a dozen recipes from this book, and to be honest they have all been somewhat disappointing. I'm sure that in such a large collection some recipes must be real keepers, but I don't think I want to try all 500 to find out which ones are the best.I think a book with perhaps the "100 Best Muffin Recipes," might actually be more helpful because there wouldn't be so many to sort through.But, as I said there is quite an assortment here, so if you really love to bake muffins and are looking for some unusual recipes then you would probably enjoy this book.I will still use this book on occasion, but simply put, it is not my favourite.

I had borrowed this book from my friend and couldn't find it anywhere! Finally thought to check out Amazon and I am so happy I did! This is the best muffin cookbook on the market.

These muffin books are the best out there,bought it as a gift for my Mom and she was over the moon.

We love this book. its a keeper!
