Mounted this on 8 foot round oak closet rod after a little prep and several coats of waterproofing. Has held up well and did the job for me.

Item itself is great, i paired it with a fiberglass pole I had laying around, but it does not attach to the dotline push pole that is suggested with it.

Looks well built and should last. Perfect to push my flat bottom skiff through the weeds chasing snakeheads in VA.Just remember that it will absolutely not fit a 1.25 outside diameter pole...even though they say it will. The inside diameter is around 1 1/8 inch. I got a sturdy 8 foot section of 1.25 inch wooden closet rod and made a very nice push pole. Had to whittle it down, drill the bolt hole and seal it with 5 coats of spar. Came out nice. Would have been nicer if it actually fit a fiberglass pole. Would have gotten a 5 star review from me then.

1 star off for bad advertised diameter. As others have mentioned, interior dimension is less than 1 1/4" Won't fit on 1 1/4" pole but...Lowes 8' closet rod is 1 5/16" and is easily sanded down on end for nice tight fit. A quick coat of oil based stain as preservative and bolt on with a stainless nut/bolt and you've got an almost 9' old school pusher. Just the ticket for my 16' Jon without a poling platform. Should float too. Will confirm and update.

Have a plethora of Bamboo so decided to use that as my pole. Sanded the sharp edges on the pole and now I have a 10ft push pole for my jon boat getting through shallows for snake head fishing. Worth every penny! The duck bill is spring loaded do you can actually squeeze it together. There is great for when it gets “stuck” it clamps together and comes out of the sludge and mud easier. Doesn’t come with screw or nut to attach to any pole.

this will rust if used in salt water. the only part that is aluminum is short attachment piece. The bolt and nut are regular steel along with the two duck feet. The spring inside is stainless steel though.Also be advised will not fit DOTLINE PUSH N GLIDE POLE. They are same inside diameter

First, the downside. The end is sized for an aluminum tube, which is expensive and hard to find, albeit the nicest option. I grabbed an 8' closet pole, shaved down the end, and had a nice push pole for under 20 bucks.This thing is a life saver. We pulled out a duck blind through the nastiest soupiest muddiest weed flat I've ever seen and this is the only thing that got us through. Doesnt hang up on weeds, even milfoil, yet gives enough purchase to push just about anything.
