Common Threads: Adam's Day at the Market

Excellent book if there is a good reader
This was a lovely book. The images were beautifully drawn and my five and seven year old sons enjoyed seeing Adam get lost and found by his parents. Adam searches around and tugs on the clothes of many people who were similarly dressed to his parents; however, it takes him a while to find them. He is eventually reunited to his family and in the end his family makes lots of new friends of people who come from different backgrounds than them. The story of meeting new friends who are different is lovely. It’s nice to see people of different backgrounds becoming friends. The reason I deducted a star was because there were so few words that my sons did not understand the underlying theme of getting to know people of different backgrounds. They only saw the top layer of the story about Adam being lost and found. This is a great book provided the adult reading the book is able to help the child draw the connections between the superficial plot and the deeper more important themes.I received a copy of this book for free in return for my unbiased review. This is my honest opinion.

Excellent book for diversity and inclusion for kids
I love all of Huda's books and her message about connection. She teaches kids how to be authentic and parents how to focus on commonalities when we all have differences. Love this book!
