After using FORSCAN to see which sensor on my Ford Galaxy had stopped working, I ordered one of these to see if that sorted my problems.The old one popped out, eventually unclipped and the new one slid straight in and worked straight away.

So far so good. Mondeo MK4 - I ordered a similar part from a different seller and it lasted 30 seconds before failing. This part however has been fitted for 2 months and been on 6 long motorway journeys without issue. The part from FORD is around £50 so this is a lot cheaper; I needed to pop the FORSCAN software on to get the code (to tell me which sensor), otherwise you need to swap sensors to see which is the faulty one. Super easy to fit and a lot cheaper than the FORD garage, but requires a little thought about diagnosing things. A competent DIYer should be fine. Plenty of YouTube videos explaining the process. If your are not confident it may be better to get the local garage on the job as there is a slight risk of damage if not careful.Update: Another two months the unit failed (short circuit showing two diagnostic codes). Exact same sensor. So while cheap, the full price from Ford maybe a better option. Either that or I’m very unlucky.
