Edgemaker Four Step Sharpening System With Two Handles

Ater going through many knife sharpeners and always eventually being disappoined, I bought this Edgemaker Pro sharpener based on reviews, price, and the fact that it is based on steel sharpening rods. For one price I get four grades of sharpeners for at leastt half the price of multi-grade sharpening stones. I was concerned about what happens when the steel rods wear out, but the website answered my concern by advising me to hold the sharpener under hot water and then remove the rod and rotate it to a fresh side. I found that this sharpener works great especially on better quality knives. I pulled an old, dull A.J. Henckels knife out of a drawer where it had been sitting for years and it came out razor sharp and holds it's edge. It seems that cheaper knives are harder to get an edge on and it dosen't last as long. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of the Edgemaker Pro sharpener.

Did a good job but not like my old set

I've used my original set of Edgemaker sharpening tools for over 20 years. I'm now living in Europe half time and didn't want to be without a good way to sharpen my knives there. This set is even better than my originals. I cannot recommend these highly enough. They work exceptionally well. It is a great product, great quality and great value. These are great. I’ve been buying them for years to kept my knives and scissors sharp and giving them as gifts. They work well every time and I started buying them at least 20 years ago. Beginning with the California state fair.

Doesn't sharpen as well as I thought....easy to use

I don't want to be a knife sharpening fan boy. Just want quality sharpening without the hassle. After going through numerous sharpening tools, without spending 100's I decided on this one. It's great for me because I can check out the knife now and choose a starting point in the 4 sharpening levels. My first knife was a Cuisinart paring knife. It sharpened great and could slice through block cheese quite nicely. Originally it would not make the cut. After weeks of use it cutting fantastic. So then I have done pocket knifes, full tang knives and survival knifes. I then sharpened a PVC scissors and axe. I am happy with this purchase and it will be the only thing I use from now on.

I am very pleased with the 4 step system. I took a pocket knife as dull as a butter knife, and in just a few minutes had it razor sharp! I also took my EDC pocket knife with a 8CR3mov blade steel already sharp and made it a lot sharper with just a few strokes on the last two steps on the yellow hone and polish. Well thought out design and tough construction. Easy to follow instructions were also included.

I like it so much, because I always wanted a sharp knife to use when I cooked. It worth the money.

This sharpening tool needs the third fork that gives it that much better edge. I have set I bought that has three forks and it is great.
