Not a traditional d cell battery
I have no idea what this thing is actually used for but it is not a good battery for your flashlight. They need to name it something other than a d cell battery because this thing will fry your flashlight.

Not as good as Tadiran but better than some generics
Discharged at about 50mA, it was doing quite well. I had to stop the capacity test, but it was at about 4AH and the voltage had barely dropped. I wouldn't be surprised if these batteries got somewhat close to their rated capacity. It even appears to have the little capacitor to help keep the battery functioning properly.I've tested another, much cheaper, generic Li-SOCl2 battery and it could barely handle a few mA before collapsing.Keep in mind, with Lithium Thionyl batteries, you must use a very low current or you will not only damage the battery, but it will not be able to provide said current. It has a lot of odd behaviors in general, and is NOT a replacement for alkalines or other types of lithium batteries. Use only where it is appropriate.

Very Disappointed, and not safe
I have a lot of rechargeable D batteries, most of those give you a USB C plug in at the top for charging. This one does not, so there is no way to charge this correctly. They boast of 1900 mAh, but when testing I don't know where they are getting that figure. The plastic coating going over the battery is raised up on side where they mounted/soldered something to the top and bottom of the battery, which makes it bulge out on the sides. If you put this in the wrong the device you will fry the device, and because it's generic you really don't know what you have. Most devices can not handle the amount of power that this is putting out, plus the device can short circuit or catch on fire.Along with all that when you try to stand the battery on its end, it leans or falls over because of the mounting that was put on the top and bottom of this battery. Additionally, my charger is rejecting this battery for some reason, which also causes me to worry. Personally, after testing it, I would be scared to use it. I can not recommend it.

It has its place...
Why it's packaged like a rechargeable li-ion battery is beyond me. It may be 19 amps in some other alternate universe but depending on what you use in you'll see those numbers turn out to be not true. With that out the way it is viable in certain instances. I only state that because I used it to see if how viable it was. My results were, it's capable of replacing 2½ Alkaline D-Cell batteries. Problem is the cost. For one of these you could buy 8-12 alkaline ones...😑It's fine if it's a direct replacement but there are some of equal size with a slightly lower rated capacitance so that should let you know something. Hope this helps.

Be aware, "D cell" in form factor only. This is not a duracell replacement battery
These Li-SOCl2 batteries are useful in many applications, but not really consumer serviceable ones. They are not to be confused with the D cell batteries you buy off the rack at the corner drugstore. Do not put them in a flashlight as they are more than twice the voltage of traditional D cell.Coming in a 100 grams, the energy density on these is really high, though you probably shouldn't believe the rating of 19Ah at 3.6V, or about a quarter stick of dynamite. But even if they only store half that, don't walk around with one of these in your pocket.Note that this is a non-rechargeable version of this battery.
