A Fantastic Piece Of Machinery
PRO'S: Almost Everything - attractive design - works well - easy to cleanCON'S: Plastic jar - I prefer glassFantastic Device! I've used several different under $100 blenders that lasted only a few months before the motor's burned out. This Jamba model uses a 2.4 HP beefy motor with a heavy blade that moves like a gas powered mower. Although I've never owned any of the higher price blenders, I compared many different models at all price levels side by side in various stores. This one is the best looking and well built models that I've seen.Beside the impressive motor power and heavy duty blade, I like the heavy steel couplings that connect the blender jar to the motor base. Rubber is used to cushion the jar to the base - it is heavy duty and allows for ease of jar removal. The rubber lid to the blender jar is heavier than others that I've used and is easy to remove and replace while creating a tight fit.The 64 ounce blender jar is larger than most others that I've seen and successfully draws almost all the food to the blade during operation. It comes with a heavy duty plastic tamper for stubborn food that might not descend to the bottom but I never needed it. The preset smoothie function is perfect for my desired smoothie consistency and works very well - it automatically changes speed throughout the (about) twenty second operation. There is also a manual option if you do not want to use the automatic presets. The pulse function has been one of my complaints with past blenders that I've owned. They had jerky pulsing speeds that sent the motor screaming from 0 to 100 each time the pulse was activated. This resulted in an apparent weakening and eventual destruction of the blender hardware. With this Jamba model, there is no jerking when pulsing. Instead, each pulse starts slowly and then quickly speeds up.The ONLY thing that I dislike about this blender is the plastic jar material. I prefer glass. But most of the blenders in the $300 to $600 range use plastic jars. But I do have positive statement about this plastic blender jar. It is a heavy duty plastic and looks like it will outlast the plastic jars that the other $300 to $600 blenders use.In summary, based on the six times that I've used this blender so far, and my comparison of others on the market, I would definitely buy it again.

Wonderful blender!
Oh wow! I have wanted a high-speed blender for a long time, but the price has been prohibitive. This blender was affordable, and the reviews were helpful. I also did some more online research on this blender and decided it would be a good buy. I was right. 1800 watts with 2.4 peak HP sounded pretty good to me, especially after reading about numerous other high-speed blenders. I like the fact that there are settings that do all the thinking for you. I don't normally like machines to think for me, but in this case I make an exception.I am trying to eat more healthfully, and have been making smoothies in a nice little personal twist-blender. It has been working quite well for me, but I wanted more versatility - hence the high-speed blender. Anyway, the first thing I tried was a smoothie. Smooth is right! I was able to get more greens in this than the personal blender, and they were completely blended. I no longer have whole chia seeds left in my smoothies either. The next thing I did was puree split pea soup, which was cooked in about an hour in my Instant Pot pressure cooker. Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker, 6Qt/1000W I have NEVER had such silky split pea soup before. I stirred in some frozen green peas to the hot soup just before I pureed it, and it gave it a lovely, fresh green pea flavor. (This was not an original idea; I read it on someone's blog.) I love to drink split pea soup out of a cup, and this was perfect! No spoon needed!I had a hard time grasping the concept that I could actually make HOT SOUP in the blender, so I tried it. I made a tomato soup with canned and fresh tomatoes, a little garlic, and some chicken broth. I'm sure I put a couple of other things in there - onion, perhaps? - but I can't recall. Wow! In less than six minutes I poured HOT tomato soup out of my blender. My children added salt to theirs; I just added a little nutritional yeast. It was delicious and I could taste the fresh tomatoes.Today I made a quick vegetable soup for lunch. I tossed in some vegetables that needed to be used up (red onion, celery, garlic, tomatoes, red cabbage . . .), added warm water, spices, and chicken bouillon, and hit "soup". When it was done I put it on speed 1 and added a can of black beans, some frozen corn (I soaked it in warm water while the soup was processing), and canned mushrooms. The slow speed mixed everything up and chopped it a bit, but did not puree it.It wasn't bad, considering I had no recipe and was just using up things in my refrigerator because I really wanted to use my blender. LOLI notice that today one of the television shopping networks has a VitaMix blender as it's today's featured item. They are asking $350 for it. It does include both a wet and dry jar, and two sizes of tampers. But I looked at the front and it has two speeds - high and low. If you want to make soup or smoothies you have to watch the clock or set a timer. To get a blender with all the programs you have to spend more than the price of their special value today. I seriously considered VitaMix before I decided on the Jamba, and I am SO glad I made the purchase I did. I have barely scratched the surface of what it can do and I am having so much fun!I couldn't be more pleased. I highly recommend this blender.

I needed a good blender! I originally bought a blendtec that was on clearance at Walmart, but it came used, so I decided to try it out and then return it. I wasn't impressed with it at all! So then I researched more blenders and I really wanted a Vitamix, but I couldn't afford to spend that much! I researched a lot of blenders and found this one. I've had it for a week and I LOVE IT! Can I say WOW!!!! I have made ice cream from frozen banana's and it was so thick and yummy! Having that tool to push down the food is awesome and makes a world of a difference! So glad I didn't steer away from buying a blender like this! I have also made smoothies and it blended them very well. I made a berry / spinach avocado smoothie and I could not even see the spinach or anything else in it. Yummy! It's a powerful beast! I have never owned a Vitamix, but my friend's that I have seen and used is VERY similar to this blender and this one is way less expensive and I think its more solid than any blender I have ever owned! I am very pleased with my purchase! And I love how the words light up on the bottom choice buttons. Oh and it's so easy to clean! I love that I don't have to take the blades out and wash it! That was a such a pain with the Ninja I use to have. Yay for Jamba for making an affordable (under 150.00) and solid product! I hope it works for many many years to come!
