I am somewhat disappointed, which is the reason for only 4 stars. Reason being is because I thought this light accepted AA batteries, but the model I received only accepts 18650 batteries. I watched several You Tube videos that showed a square battery compartment. I did my due diligence because the pics shown here do not offer a view of the compartment. However, the unit I received has a cylindrical compartment that only accepts 18650 batteries. My preference and reason for choosing this headlamp was because of the stellar reviews, both here and found elsewhere. Furthermore, my preference was for AA batteries. Is this a dealbreaker?... HECK NO!... because the light is everything positive, as billed... comfortable, bright, easy to use, etc. As far as function, you can't go wrong although I haven't had time to determine length of usage on an 18650 charge. Think I did as much research as I could possibly do to make an educated decision and was surprised to find a cylindrical battery compartment upon opening the package. I've purchased a few new 18650's and double charger found on Amazon to remedy this issue... and figure if this is my biggest life problem of the day/week/month... I'm in pretty good shape. My intended plan for usage is camping/hiking/outdoors. In the end, I'm very pleased with the quality and performance of this product and figure the quality outweighs any battery issues. Its an easy fix and have several flashlights that use the 18650 batteries I'm very pleased with so could be a good thing in the end. Just wanted to make others aware should their preference/thinking re: batteries be the same as mine. Should I have simply missed something in the pics or decription, I would surely give this headlamp 5 Stars.

I love this light. Bought it to use when walking our dogs after dark ( or before daylight) About the only time we do this is when we are camping. However I have used this light for so many other things since i got it. It's a really nice light that is very bright. I have a 1000 lumen Coast flashlight and the output is comparable to that. It is very comfortable to wear and slips on and off with ease. Highly recommend this product.This is an update: The light stopped working for me after six months of use. An Amazon rep has advised me that he requested a refund. To bad it stopped working. I really got dependent on it.

Amazing light. I have never used it and not had people ask me about it. It is a amazing. Used Hunting, hiking and Kayaking. This light is the best possible hunting accessory you can buy. Walking into the woods with ample light everywhere you want it and your hands free.... GREATNESS!!!! I have had lesser headlamps. They are ok... this one is the BEST by far! Not by a little BY FAR!Update - I have to also say that their customer support staff are top notch!!!! Thank you OPG for a great product.

I ordered one and could not believe how bright it was (1000 lumen) and how far it would light. It uses only three standard AA batteries and none of those less standard rechargeable batteries such as 18650 3.7V batteries. You can just buy AA battery anywhere and also take spares or even rechargeable AA battery. I liked it so much I ordered two more for my kid when he bikes and also for hiking night time.I did not use them in the rain yet because it is not raining here, so I do not know how waterproof those are.

Headlamp is great. On its brightest setting, its blinding. The only reason it gets four stars is that the battery back needs a seal to keep the batteries water tight. I really like the strap over the scull because the battery pack and head lamp are a little heavy and that strap keeps the whole setup on my head.

I have used and relied on headlamps for years. Mainly for hunting and camping. I wanted a headlamp that was bright enough to light up coons way up in a tree, good battery life, and not be heavy. Well I found it!!!! This light is extremely bright!!!! And the zoom is incredible!!! I haven't had it in the field yet but I just lighted up a tree in the yard that's about a 100 yds away like I had a big spotlight in my hand.

Nice lamp, while it lasted, in my case 2 months, in which I used it probably 4 times for really short periods of time, then it started falling apart, the on switch no longer works and I guess it's impossible to get a repair kit to fix it myself, I don't think this is built to last, I'm stuck with a useless $35 dlls lamp, waste of money

Really bright light! Covers a lot of area. Kinda foggy color that it puts out, compared to an expensive headlamp that is much whiter and clearer. Still works great though for basic needs.
