I really like this beautiful leather journal, the quality is exceptional, the pages inside are thick & durable without movement..I gave “5” stars as it is such an excellent, excellent high quality item, the one slight issue that I have here, is that the elastic closing strap is not much to my liking..It “IMO ONLY” takes away from the lovely leather itself.. Based solely on my op with the elastic closing strap, it still makes an amazing gift and or for ones own keepsake, as well as a few other ideas..The color of this beauty is, by far the most “eye catching” out of the many other leather journals that I have purchased/returned.. And it absolutely takes the prize as far as the (sideways - style) for writing purposes! That in itself is such an enhancement!I did purchase another leather journal as one of several gifts for my husbands upcoming birthday celebration & will happily keep this beautiful leather journal as a decorative piece for future guests sign in.. And to those of you whom are looking specifically for a guests sign in keepsake and or to have event memories, this stunning leather journal is the very best item to purchase, those who do have these types of get togethers, the book of memories can cost anywhere from $25.00 to $100.00 and honestly this journal will absolutely win over your guests in attendance..You'll clearly save money, and this beauty adds such a touch of class & a truly wonderful touch of creativity & elegance..Again, the sideways style on this journal is such a lovely enhancement, the journal also lays completely flat, the size of the item is also very complimentary.. I just ordered a second one in a smaller size. I love the FEEL of this journal. I bought it for watercolor sketches. The pages are so cottony. Almost a fabric feel. If you are a heavy watercolor artist, you go lightly on the saturation. It’s leading me to a new technique, which is always good. Change is good! I am such a fan of this manufacturer now. And it came nicely packaged with a heartfelt note. I’m in LOVE. I just like carrying it around!!

I bought this journal to use with watercolor specifically because of the cotton paper. Unfortunately when I tried to use watercolors in it I realized this journal was not suited to the medium. The paper has no sizing so the watercolor is soaked up immediately and the colors are splotchy, dull and bleed through to the other side. Now, if I still want to use the journal for watercolor I need to prime it with watercolor ground which kinda defeats the purpose for me specifically choosing the cotton paper. If you are not using this for watercolor or other wet mediums I would say it’s a great buy! I gave this a 3 star review because I think it would be good for some other uses and the quality seems to be pretty good. Unfortunately, for me it was a miss. 🙁

I absolutely love this sketchbook. I love the outside feel of the leather. I'm surprised it's got so many pages in it. I absolutely love it. I'm going to buy another one, but this one is going to be just a little smaller. I think I'll buy a small traveling size.

The leather is soft, smells good and feels great in that hand. This size will fit in my purse for drawing and journaling.Paper is great quality. I bought another journal from Leather Village with deckled edges and it was also wonderful and that is why I chose this company over another. They really have great craftsmanship and quality!

I got this leather journal for the cotton-based paper. It turns out the leather is of good quality, and tanned well, Arrived with no nicks, or marks, and sealed in a plastic bag. Tried the paper with a pencil, felt tip pen, ballpoint pen, Sharpie, and fountain pen. None caused the ink to bleed through. Overall, a good product. Recommended.
