Blue OrangePiece of Pie Game

This game is very easy to learn or to teach yet it involves a good level of strategy as you have to think ahead and build your pie trying to meet the requirements at play. I played the game with 2, 3 or 4 players and I enjoyed the fact that the games adapts nicely to the number of players. 2 Players was a great experience as you build 2 pies instead of one so you need to concentrate twice as hard to make the best choices.The artwork is adorable. This makes a very nice gift because of the look of the box (a pie fresh out of the pastry shop) and because of the game inside :)

Yes, it's cute. The graphics are adorable. Yes, it's easy to learn. But it's just not that exciting and the most important part of the game, tallying up the points at the end, is where my kids totally lost interest. What's missing from the game is a convenient way for everybody to count up their points based on how their pies turned out. Other than consulting the instructions every two seconds for each person and figuring out which patterns/combos they mastered, there is no way to easily count up the points. The designers should have included a checklist for each player or thought of some other fun way for people to keep track of their points. I may try to come up with my own check list so that we can try it again and it's not a total waste of money, but as a mom and teacher, I would not recommend this game overall.
