This was my second time purchasing a soft store food storage container, and I'm a happy customer! This bag easily fit a 26 pound bag of kibble and has kept it fresh for months.I love that you're able to store the foot in an airtight fashion, without having to have a large tub. As the food dwindles, so does the bag size. It's very unobtrusive and easy to move around as you see fit.

I'd give this a zero, but one is the lowest rating available. I am incredibly disappointed with the quality of this product. I purchased one 7 years ago and have used it constantly, dragging it around with me over the course of 2 dozen moves, stuffed it into the car, dragged it around and it withstood the use without any damage. Until, a dog at the boarding facility chewed a hole in the bottom :( No problem I thought, I'll just buy a new one, I certainly got my monies worth with the original one, right? I hung the new one on a doorknob to fill it like I've done hundreds of times with the old one and the plastic ring broke into numerous pieces. Apparently, there has been a redesign which is nowhere near the quality as the design from 7 years ago. I do not recommend this product under any circumstances. Just after a few uses the plastic rim is already breaking apart. Not airtight even before the lid cracking. One good remark is the bag is collapsible and will fit almost anywhere for traveling.

Gave it 3 stars because it doesn't hold 30lb of dog food. I read reviews before buying the product and was on the fence about purchasing the larger size bag because of people mentioning this exact problem. But from the way it sounded I assumed I might only have a couple days of overflow, not 2 weeks worth. I feed my dog Nutro adult dog food and I want to say they are an average size nugget of food. I was able to fit maybe 22lb of food in there (I don't own a scale otherwise I would have weighed it). For 30lb to fit it needs to be SMALL bits. I think the product is great but get the bigger size bag if you order 30lb bags of dog food so it has a better chance to fit.

This is a nice bag with an inner liner to store dog food in. Screwing the top on and off is very easy and the strap makes carrying the container easier than carrying a regular bag of dog food. We haven't gone through all of the food in the bag but the bag definitely "shrinks" as the amount of food goes down. It also does appear to be fairly air tight and I don't see how ants or other bugs/critters could get into the bag as long as the lid is on tightly.The instructions say to hang this on a door handle (or something similar) to fill it, but I refuse to hang up to 30 lbs. on a door handle (unnecessary strain on the handle). So, I put it on the floor and slowly poured the food into the bag. I had to stop often to shake the food around and lift the sides to make more room, but it wasn't too horrible. Had my husband been home, I would have held the sides of the bag while he poured the food.I gave this product four stars simply because it does not hold 30 lbs. of our dogs' current food (Science Diet Prescription Diet w/d). And when I say it will not fit, I put as much in as I could then shook and spun the bag to add more food to the point that I could barely screw the lid on. Additional shaking and spinning yielded no additional room. It *may* hold 30 lbs. of a different brand or possibly cat food, but not our food. Since we previously just left the food right in the original bag, we're now filling this container with as much food as will fit and leaving the rest in the original bag. We finish off the original bag then move to the food in this container.Despite not holding 30 lbs. (again, of our current dog food), I do recommend this product as being convenient and easy to handle, move, etc.UPDATE (July 23, 2008): We've emptied and filled this container a few times so I've experience emptying the bottom of the bag. Since the dog food does inevitably come with crumbs, emptying this container can be a little annoying. The food hides in the various creases of the inner liner so I end up picking the very last bits out by hand. I then turn the container inside out over the trash can to get the crumbs out. Since it gets emptied only once every few weeks I don't think it's a big deal. I still give it four stars.UPDATE (May 7, 2016): We've been using this twice daily for more than 8 years and it's still going strong. Our daughters, ages 7 and 10, are now responsible for feeding the dogs and have no issues getting the lid on or off.

We just traveled around the country with our 2 large breed dogs and this thing was awesome! We were tight on room in our vehicle so we loved that it collapsed as the amount of food went down. We had no problem storing 30 pounds of kibble in it. I was initially concerned about the handle being able to support that much weight but we lugged it everywhere and it wasn't a problem. It's not completely airtight but it does seal very, very well. The lid goes on and off easily and we even stored our dog bowls in it. I wouldn't use this for everyday storage but for travel it is indispensable! Highly recommended.

VERY disappointed. I purchased the Soft Store Collapsible 30-Pound container to hold our puppy food ONLY. Today as I was feeding the puppies, I noticed more than three white horizontal tears in the lining about three inches down from where the lid meets the storage pouch. I have filled this storage unit only with puppy food no more than three times since we have had it. It was shipped to me on May 8, 2016. We have not traveled or carried it anywhere on any trips; nor is it accessible to the puppies. Odd place for tears to start forming so I question the quality of the liner. I am very disappointed.

It is furgin unbelievable that 1) dog food comes in 30lb bags, 2) this bag is advertised as accommodating a 30lb bag of dog food, and 3) 30 lbs of dog food WILL NOT FIT IN. If they made it an inch deeper, would be no problem. The question is, WHY? Stupidity? Incompetence? Callous indifference? Greed? I'd truly like to know.
