Lao Gan Ma Spicy Chili Crisp (Chili Oil Sauce) - 7.41oz (Pack of 1)

I purchased this because a recipe I was trying out called for and extolled the extra dimension crunchy chili paste would bring to the dish. Too late for that evening’s meal, but, curious, I ordered a bottle to taste and possibly add to my pantry; I'm so glad I did.Just as described, it’s crunchy, moderately hot (I’m in the mid-range for heat tolerance; when I tone down the spices for family meals, some still complain it’s too hot - when I myself dine at a Szechuan restaurant, their idea of hot is far hotter than I can comfortably enjoy), and I've discovered that picks up all sorts of food - otherwise bland cottage cheese, for instance, is transformed into a distinctive snack or side item in salads.I think this brand offers good value for money - a little goes a long way - and picks up the flavor and texture of all sorts of foods. Highly recommended.

I have tried another chili oil that only gave me 6 ounces and it was supposed to be pretty popular it had a very weird taste. But this one is prefect!, The right amount of crunch with the right amount of flavor the whole purpose of this is to give it a nice kick not to take over the flavor so if you’re looking for something that has a good crunch that will not overpower your plate. This is definitely for you it does have a flavor, but it’s delicious! I put it in my pasta, Ramen noodles,on my eggs, and for the amount that you get it’s so worth the price. It’s so much cheaper than most of the chili oils I’ve purchased so far usually they only give you like 6 ounces you pay close to the amount you’re paying now they are generous with the amount they give you.

I love this stuff. I used to make my own but it was a major effort and didn’t taste as good as this bottle of awesomeness. It’s affordable and has perfect heat. I use these when cooking eggs in heavy cream and it comes out perfect, throw in a hot link and you’ve got a spicy breakfast full of flavor. Great flavor, great texture and perfect heat. Buy this. But it now and bathe your eggs it.

Was so happy to find this product in larger jars! This chili crisp is soooo addictive!!! This stuff is great on everything!! It wakes up chicken sandwiches, fantastic flavor on toasted tomato sandwiches, adds a little kick to a casserole, corn on the cob, . It has a little heat but not overwhelming with an almost smoky hint to it. Get a small jar to try first and before you know it, you’ll be using this stuff like an everyday condiment.

This large bottle of crispy chili has the same taste as other similar products but it’s not as crunchy as some of the others. The flavor is excellent with a bit of heat and a nice chili taste that compliments many dishes. I tried it on a shrimp curry and it added some extra spice and texture.I learned about crispy chili while watching a cooking show and now I always keep some on hand in the refrigerator.This is not very spicy but used more for the flavor and texture. It adds some needed crunch to dishes and adds some chili flavor which is tasty without being too hot.

This is the best one I've ever tried and I've tried a lot of others that seem similar but nothing beats this one. There's something about the spice to oil ratio, the consistency, the spice level itself. It's all perfect. No other brand is quite like this one. Also this jar is huge value for the size. The ones I do find in stores can be so tiny in comparison, I'll only buy this large jar on Amazon.

I fried a few cloves of chopped garlic with a pinch of pepper flakes in two TB of olive oil on medium low for two or three minutes, then turned up the heat to medium and added a quarter cup of frozen peas. Once it began sizzling well again, I spooned a heaping tablespoon of Lao Ganma Spicy chili crisp into the pan, stirred it up, turned off the heat and covered the pan. Meanwhile in another pan I had some whole wheat spaghetti (one egg worth of pasta - enough for a main dish for one person) made with an Imperia pasta maker boiling and within a few minutes it was ready. Strained the noodles and poured the sauce over them: wow that stuff is good! I lived in Taiwan for many years and the flavor brought back a lot of memories of eateries and roadside food stands...The downside of this Chinese brand is the inclusion of MSG and a preservative. I will look around and try to see if there are other brands without those ingredients. Overall I really like this and will use it unless and until I find something better.
