In Rides Trouble (Black Knights Inc. Book 2)

Explosive!
Can I just say I am loving the Black Knights series by Julie Ann Walker? The second book in the series, In Rides Trouble is tense and powerful and just freaking awesome. In this one, it isn't so much the action that I loved but the palpable chemistry and verbal sparring between Frank and Becky. We watched their strained interactions in Hell on Wheels and watching the two of them come to terms with their love for one another is just as explosive as you would expect.Frank, aka "Boss" is several years older than Becky and the leader of the Black Knights, but it's her shop that they use as their cover so there is already an interesting meshing of personalities. When we left the two of them in Hell on Wheels, Becky had wanted to become an operator with the rest of the crew but Frank was not having that (more so out of fear than his confidence in her abilities I suspect), so she up and left for some time away. Her time away ended up on a lovely boat with her best friend hijacked by pirates. Of course it was Frank and the Knights to her rescue. That was fun to watch.Aside from the exciting action of the rescue and other danger that lurkes throughout the story, I was all in when reading about Frank and Becky. I love their back and forth play. I think Becky's brother Bill said it best when he noticed their verbal sparring was a form of foreplay. That didn't go over well with Frank when it was brought to his attention. Bottom line is Frank doesn't think he can have Becky and she has no idea why.Eventually, we see Franks walls start to come down and his heart opening up to Becky. Or maybe he just can't resist her any longer? There are some twists and turns we get to ride out alongside Becky where Frank and his secrets are concerned. Walker does a fabulous job of stringing us along just enough to have us nuts but not enough to annoy us. I loved every minute of it. Finally when it happened, the passion between Frank and Becky was hot and wild and so perfect for the two of them.In Rides Trouble opened up with a very exciting plot - I mean who writes about modern day pirates? I really enjoy Walker's storytelling and the development of the characters in each of the books. The way the characters' stories overlap and are set up for the next book in the series really makes it hard to stop after each book. Which is probably why I haven't. If you are looking for an entertaining romantic suspense series to read give the Black Knights Inc series a try. While I think each book could be read as a stand alone, they are so much better in order.

Great Second Book
In Rides Trouble is the second book in the Black Knights Inc. series.Rebecca "Rebel" Reichert is the brassy blond who owns the specialty motorcycle shop that the Black Knights use as a front for their special ops organization. The leader of the Knights is Frank "Boss" Knight. He and Becky have had a love/hate relationship since they met three years earlier. She's always finding herself in the middle of one thing or another. And this time she does it up big. After the events of the first book, Hell On Wheels, Becky needs a break. She needs to get away from the horrible events she was witness to, and to put some space between her and the guys, especially Frank. She and her friend Eve, set sail for Madagascar on Eve's boat. In the middle of the Indian Ocean, they encounter a boat load of modern day pirates. They take Becky and Eve hostage and head for a bigger prize than two American women.Frank, Bill (Becky's brother), and the Knights newest recruit, "Angel" set off on a rescue mission. During the mission the man in charge of the pirates, Sharif, is attempting to escape once again, dragging Becky with him. Becky wounds him badly. She is saved, but Sharif escapes. And set his sights on Becky, who has disfigured and humiliated him. He wants her bad.Frank and Becky continue to fight the attraction they have for each other. Frank believes he's too old for her. And Becky knows he has another woman he sees. Things become very real for Becky when she meets the other woman, and her son.I enjoyed this story a lot. It was a great follow up to the first book. It's not necessary to read the series, they can be read as stand alone books. But they are great stories. Alpha males in leather riding motorcycles. Action, a shoot out or two and a bit of romance. Something for everyone.I look forward to the next one. I'm hoping the character "Snake" who was introduced in the last chapter shows up again.

WOW!
What a ride this one was! First Becky and her best friend Eve are kidnapped by Somali pirates while vacationing aboard Eve's catamaran sailboat in the Indian Ocean supposedly in safe waters! A daring rescue is performed bythree of the Black Knights, Bill, Beckys brother, Frank (Boss)and Beckys love interest for the past three years and a newrecruit, Angel. Becky nearly loses her life and Frank totallyruins his already bad shoulder in saving her in the last seconds of the rescue. Needless to say the whole experience has both of their emotions for each other flying off the charts! I won't be a spoiler and give away any morebut if you love the Black Knights you have got to read this! There are many more thrills and chills in this wild ride before it's over and its not to be missed! Wonderful grand finale! I absolutely love this series! Great super hot heroes, lots of scary action and love scenes to die for! What's not to like! Don't miss this! Sincerely, Merrilyn

The Big Misunderstanding
It's an enjoyable book with plenty of tension and give and take between the characters, but the only thing really keeping the two apart is The Big Misunderstanding. One halfway decent conversation between the two could have cleared everything up, but no, they speak in riddles, make wild assumptions and carry on blindly. Even when The Big Misunderstanding was about to be cleared up, our heroine stops someone from telling her the truth! The author may think she needed to do that so the rest of the action in the book could take place, but really, just figure out another way to get the character to do what you need her to do. Making her an idiot isn't the way.

Another great read
This is the second in a series and just like the first it didn't leave me disappointed. I love how the author is able to switch from character character however I missed Ali and Nate from the first book as all the other characters was in this one and I hope that she brings them all back in the next book which is already downloading

Entertaining writing but not an exciting plot overall.
Part of a series and maybe if you already "know" the characters in another context you'd be more interested in this book than I was. I thought the initial episode involving the two main characters was a good adventure and avoided cliche. I found the later developments much less interesting so it was the plot which lacked appeal for me, after the opening chapters.

Just Great!
I downloaded Hell on Wheels, as it was free. I have found some really good authors this way - and I was hooked. What a great series, this is the second book and I shall carry on with them. There's plenty of action and misunderstandings. I love Frank and Becky and the way they bounce off each other. A must read.

In Rides Trouble - Wow!
I have decided that I need a book with action and romance and this fits the bill perfectly. Frank was a alpha, alpha-male and Becky was a tough, independant, sexy female - they are the perfect match. I have read nearly all of JAW books and I like learning about all the characters and their back story - it keeps my turning the pages!!

Another great read. I think I will read the series but not straight after each other. The story's could be too similar. Did enjoy this one.

Great read!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'd like a little less time devoted to setting up the next story's love interest though - hence 4/5 stars.
