Japanese style pocket knife made in China
Not made in Japan! This is a nice knife in a Japanese style. The method to open the knife is not as intuitive as the usual flickers or studs. While the Spyderco IMHO is the best!!Well made. The blade locks securely in place

Amazing knife, especially at this price
I own a lot of knives, some costing several hundred dollars and more, and yet I was very impressed with this knife. I bought it originally based on the style, I was just drawn to it's design, and the reviews didn't scare me away, but when I received it and initially checked it out, wow, I was quite impressed. I mean for $50, you can't go wrong. I have some other budget friendly brands that costs more than this knife did, but really can't compare to this knife in terms of design and craftmanship. For a big knife, it is hardly noticable in the pocket. It is more noticable than my Bugout, but nowhere as noticable as my ZT 562TI is. It falls somewhere in the middle of those two knives, which are some of my favorite EDC knives. As for this knife, I am impressed with its build quailty and functionality. I've carried it for about two months now and so far its been great. The Japanese style flipper doesn't take too long to get accommodated to and works great once you have it mastered, in the intended manner, that is with your thumb and not your index finger. Great knife for a great price, get one and check it out!

Sharp enough to send you to the ER if you accidentally drop it point first into your leg
Beautiful knife and seems well crafted. How it opens feels a little awkward to me though - not your typical flipper. Came extremely sharp and probably not good for klutzes like me.When I first opened it I was checking it out at my desk. On opening the blade it slipped out of my hand and went tip first right through my shorts and into my leg. All on my and my fault. It was so sharp it almost didn't hurt. I should have gone to the ER right away but instead just put a hydrocolloidal bandage on it which stopped the bleeding. Went to the ER the next day and they said I'd waited too long and to stitch it up then would be an infection risk. Word to the wise....Because of the opening mechanism it probably won't be an EDC knife but it is still an interesting and well crafted knife for the collection.

Excellent knife at a value price. Effortless to open if you use your thumb.
I own a significant number and variety of knives and I must say this is a great knife at a value price. The D2 tool steel has approximately 12-13% chromium and therefore falls into the category of a semi-stainless steel; however, this is only 1-2% less than the 14% minimum to be a full stainless. D2 is a hard and reasonably tough steel. Not as tough as CPM-20CV or Sandvik 14C28N, but it has excellent edge retention. It is an effective combination of wear resistance and toughness at a hardness of 58-60 HRC.For all those having difficulty using the flipper to open with one hand, it is because the flipper is designed for opening with your thumb rather than your index finger. Use of the thumb provides an almost effortless as well as fast opening.

Bump flip
Love this knife the weight the action the grip. Beautiful nice to show off or use. I have found it easy to put an edge back on it after abuse.I open it with a bump flip action which is quick and reverses the action and movement.I really like how i can mistreat this knife and clean and sharpen it into a show piece again

Locking does not work reliably - be sure to check it
Had the knife around 3 months and the lock started failing to fully engage. Dangerous safety concern as it sharp, and appears like it should be locked. Cleaned it thinking maybe something was clogging up the mechanics, but that didn't help. You just need to check it every time, be careful.

Nice pattern and size
This is a little bit bigger than most pocket knives, but I do like the pattern and the size. I think I'd prefer if it had a slightly different style Flipper, More of the American style on the other side of the spine so you didn't have to reach your thumb around. I'd say the location of the flipper and needing to use a thumb to make it work is a downside for this blade. But otherwise it's pretty good, and I like the pattern... I feel it be a little bit better with scales that were made out of a more fabric type material, the plasticky scales are not great but they're okay.
