product and support are excellent, but the job it does may be misrepresented.
I am giving this a review of 5 stars, but with a qualification. The physical product appears to be solidly designed and built, and the customer support was outstanding. But the product is misnamed. This product, and products like it, are not "Ethernet Extenders." "Ethernet" is the name of a network protocol. These products do not "extend" anything over an Ethernet Network protocol. They require a separate dedicated (Ethernet-type) Cat 6 cable be run between the TX and RX. If I could have run a separate dedicated cable, I could have used an HDMI cable without a TX and RX.

This is good just sometimes the charger burns after one year.

Small, only needs to power the transmitter, great signal throughput
This $25 setup is far superior to a previous HDMI extender I purchased. (Search my reviews to see.) The picture quality is great and the signal is rock solid. I'm pushing it through 100+ feet of Cat5 cable and color and quality is great.Knocking off one star only because this setup can't feed two screens simultaneously. There is only one HDMI output on the transmitter. I haven't tried splitting the signal, but the performance looks so good that I expect I could split it if the length of the second feed isn't excessive.

Well if I'm gonna be forced to get my opinion vi email.
I got an email requesting my opinion. Nice size, good quality build and they've been pretty rocksolid for almost everything I've used them on. They can be powered from either direction although apple computers and devices that don't put enough power on the HDMI port can have issues requiring the power feed to be at the transmit end. I have used them to extend a camera which is great if you have to use a camera that's not NDI compatible. I had just way too many cables but if you can get all your cables down to CAT5 it's a whole lot easier which meant rather than having to run HDMI all over the place thick fat HDMI and couplers and connection issues I could cut my stocking cables down to a few sets of cat five cable in various links that I can switch around for various rooms we set up in. The other two places I am using this is from the guest speakers laptop at the podium back to the tech table where I have an HDMI switch which then goes over another converter back to the projector. this allows 2 cables going upfront ethernet and ethernet for video, and then two more ethernet cables going to the projector one for video and one for DMX. I have probably used up to 150 feet of cable with these and down to 10 feet and 6 feet in testing. All of my issues were usually with other devices or the cable being unplugged. I just wish there was a model number for these things as whenever I need another set I have to search by picture as multiple brands try to claim these as their own. This set was purchased for my local theater as there's an individual who wanted to be able to have a permanently installed HDMI connection at the stage back to the projection Booth. I went with these because I've had absolutely no issues with them and I have had with others that just don't like the input resolution or handshaking for some reason. Another benefit is that I have been already using them with the set up for mobile live streaming for an individual which means when we do an event at the theater the infrastructure will be the same and I will be able to cross connect. They don't draw much power which means a 5.5 mm barrel splitter can be used to power say an HDMI switch, transmitter and receiver from a 5V 1-2 amp brick and then they can be Velcro-ed on top. Being able to power from either end is convenient and gifts options as this means not needing to power converter at a camera, laptop or projector and being able to power from a central location off a battery back up ( just because the Internet and projector goes off doesn't mean we're not gonna stop recording which makes fixing things and post easier ). Can't think of anything else to say but I'm sure I'll remember something after I post.

Item NEVER worked -- Check Update--
I bought this product with high hopes, as it had high reviews and it looked to be just the product I needed....firstly this product arrived extremely late.... secondly and most importantly the item just never worked straight out the box. I tried everything.... multiple monitors, multiple source devices, multiple HDMI cables, multiple ethernet cables(various lengths, All working on other devices) .... The extender powers on but thats about it. I get zero signal on the receiver end, the little red indicator comes up on the RX side so I know the POE aspect is working. I even tried the EDID features to no avail.overall a bum deal. tried to get replacement, but nothing came of it. I am very disappointed in this purchase!!--UPDATE!!!--Sooooo as it turns out the item actually works, but in an unconventional way! I may have just been the unlucky victim of a quality control issue, because my adapters were mislabeled.... My TX was actually the RX and vice versa..... by sheer luck after trying and testing out all what i stated in my initial review i thought what the heck put them on opposite ends and sure enough the thing worked. I'm hoping that this is really just a one off, cause i am not sure many people would have the patience to try all what i did... in terms of performance and picture quality it is great.... just took me quite some time to figure out that my adapters were mislabeled.bumping it up to 3 stars from 1 star. would have been 5 stars if it had worked straight out the box. :)

HDMI extender
The media could not be loaded. First things first, I bought this to extend my monitor into the bedroom for my surveillance. I love the build quality of this item, super easy to install. Just running an Ethernet cord into both sides, not a bad price. You plug an Internet cord into one side then you run it to the second device and it powers it.Worth the money super fast video. So I love the device. but I want my screen to be mirrored, you can't turn the duplicate setting on PC and it works. So this will be great for if you got the same monitor or TV in the same room as the device so let's say if you are trying to use a projector and you got a computer so you were trying to put the video on a projector, this device would come in handy. So I will give an update in a couple days 12-12-24
