Dynatek Ignition Coils DC2-1

Fast shipping, best price I could find. The factory coil document is missing something on the wiring diagram. The red wire gets placed on the same tab as the jumper wire between coils, the opposite coil from where the brown wire goes. Also, 1.5 ohm coils should go on the new Dyna III ignition, the old Dyna III uses 3 ohm. Cross wire secondary wires to spark plugs also, it gives you a hotter spark. This is shown in the wiring diagram but most people miss it. Make sure you confirm which system you have and which coils you need before hooking them up. The wrong coils will work for some time and later fail the entire system. Documentation on the factory website is not that good. Call them for any questions before you do anything. Also, if you need a new pickup unit, the old trigger magnet still works in case you want to preserve timing.

These coils fit and work well, they are advertized as 6 volt coils however Dynatek told me that they will work well with a 12 volt system; they did.

My old six volt Dyna coils (DC2-1), installed in 1985, on my 1971 BMW R75/5 (modified for four spark plugs) were just replaced. Made a big difference in starting and performance. Took 26 years to have any symptoms of an ignition problem.-Don- SSF, CA
