How much does it cost to run the machine on electricity?

I just ran my distiller (Pure Water) today and measured the electricity usage from the outlet.  The unit ran for 3 1/2 hours and made a little over  a half-gallon.  The unit consumed 2.4 kwh of electricity during the 3 1/2 hours.  At my current So Calif rates of $.25/kwh, it cost about $0.60.  Considering that equals about $1.20/gallon, I can buy distilled water at my local grocery store for $0.89 per gallon.  So, I will use this machine as "backup" only and buy my distilled water at the grocery store.

Question 2

Ive read that some distillers have a 2 phase heating process. This first removes anything that boils off at lower temp than h20. Is feature Included?

Home distillers pretty much all work the same way, just the mechanism setup is different.  I couldn't find a home distiller with "2 phase heating process," I did find the term in industrial distilling

i just purchased a unit, and am wondering how to remineralize my water. i understand some people use hawaiian sea salt and baking soda(no aluminum)W

At one time I was worried about remineralizing the water, too. All the mineral supplements I found for purchase had some mineral I didn't want to be consuming extra amounts of. Finally I stopped worrying about it. I have excellent results from this water that I have been drinking for almost two decades. Juicing of organic veggies will give you your minerals. Save your salt, Himalayan or otherwise, for flavoring your food. And, unless you are sweating buckets, consuming an extra Tablespoon a day of any added salt is too much!!! (1st answer suggestion) For added nutrients/ minerals/B vitamins/iodide, I eat a chlorella tablets and seaweeds. To reset your alkalinity and  magnesium levels, detox and nourish, I love to occasionally take a long hot bath with a cup of baking soda, 1-2 lbs of Epsom salts, and 1/4 cup of powdered chlorella. And then you can melt away any stress caused by worrying about mineralizing your de-mineralized water. Been there though.

Where do the minerals filtered out go ?

dear fraugher, I'm not sure of what minerals you are  asking about. the reason I bought the mini classic ct  was to reduce the amount of fluoride in my life and my four cats lives. I have been using my mini classic ct everyday for a year and a half and I have not experienced a single problem.
