YAKIMA - HangOut 3, Trunk Bike Rack, 3 Bike Capacity

Carrying three bikes on this rack creates a lot of stress and strain on the top edge of the trunk. I have a 2013 Lincoln MKZ, which is on the approved vehicle list, so I felt confident there would be no problems using this rack. However, I found the installation instructions not very clear. The instruction indicated that I should use an alternative way to attach the top straps to the deck lid. I finally figured out how to do it, but I was still very concerned about hitting a bump in the road and damaging the truck of losing the bikes. I eventually removed one of the bikes, and I was much more confident in the rack's performance. Bottom line - I think having three bikes on this rack puts too much weight on the trunk.

It's working well installed on my Pontiac Vibe. No problems holding 3 bikes on a recent trip, part of which was through a gravel mountain pass. I've used it for about a month so far. My one complaint is that the side straps are difficult to adjust, since it's just a plastic piece. But that hasn't been an issue since it's more for stabilization than actual support.

This unit operates much like competitor brands and is easy to install. Foam protectors are placed well to avoid vehicle damage.

Does the job and affordable. I did take off my back windshield wipers due to info in other reviews.

hangout 3 is goodsuitable for many kinda cars or suvsbut it is not for long drive for surenot the best fit but a suitable fit for different kindsif just for short trip...take it
