Fun
This was a fun read while being a good storyline with interesting characters. I fully intend to continue with the series.

Great Story, but...
I love the series by Steve Higgs with Albert and Rex (Culinary Capers), and I enjoy stories involving the paranormal, so I thought this would be a winning combination. And it is if you are okay with a story that mentions sex, penis, groin, etc., at least every other page. Sadly, it just isn't a theme I enjoy. If you are okay with the main character's preoccupation with sex (which I'm sure is very realistic for many guys), this book is a must read!It is serious in a light-hearted and humorous sort of way. Mr. Higgs' turn of phrase will have you chuckling! The descriptions of the "vampire wanna-bes" actually had me laughing aloud! This is written in British English, but for us Americans, it really doesn't take too much to get used to the different terms. You can usually google the more obscure terms. The different story lines get tied up pretty tidily, although it doesn't end how I expected! Beware!I would rate this R, mostly for all the conversations - both internal and external - about sex. There is some light language. There are no overt sex scenes - which is nice, in my opinion. It is a murder mystery, so there is death and blood, one attempted suicide, a kidnapping, and drugs and alcohol mentioned.I recommend this book with caveats.(Read with Kindle Unlimited subscription and listened to with Alexa Android app. )

Subtle humor
I saw an advertisement for this book on Facebook. I don’t trust buying anything from Facebook so I came to Amazon and bought it here because I have never had any problems getting things from there.I loved the book. It’s full of subtle humor and was a real page turner. I love mystery books and this one did not disappoint. I’ve already read it twice and will be ordering the second and third book in this series after the holidays.

kindle unlimited
kindle unlimited, would have been more interesting books if had nor switched back and forth between 3 main characters, in addition to having different sets some with same stories some as set with stories that were in the regular order but out of order with the .# such as the the harper files, and what was up with #11 being 'origin' story, whough will give 3 here but 4 on zon bc 3 there means ;bad/dislike' but did not dislike per se, it was 'ok' but on zon that is 'bad'. Did review this one, bc got on freebie day so own it, so verified, tho they verify my card every month or last time when got the 3 mth offer.Tempest Michaels is about to have a bad week. When a newspaper ad typo sends all manner of daft paranormal enquiries his way, P.I. Tempest Michaels has no sense of the trouble and danger heading his way. In no time at all, he has multiple cases to investigate, but it’s all ridiculous nonsense like minor celebrity Richard Claythorn, who believes he is being stalked by a werewolf and a shopkeeper in a nearby village with an invisible thief. Solving these cases might be fun if his demanding mother (Why are there no grandchildren, Tempest?) didn’t insist on going with him, but the simple case of celebrity stalking might not be all it seems when he catches a man lurking behind the client’s property just in time to see him step into the moonlight and begin to transform. All he wanted was a nice easy job where he got to be his own boss and could take his trusty Dachshunds to work. How much trouble can a typo cause? The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get him killed.Blue Moon InvestigationsA Typo, a Werewolf, and Two Dopey Dachshunds #0.5Paranormal Nonsense #1The Phantom of Barker Mill #2Can You Kick a Ghost in the Nuts? Fun Read
Narrative moved along quickly with good action sequences. Enjoyed the cast of supporting characters and the main character was well developed. Some confusing moments in the story arc but they didn’t interfere with my overall enjoyment of the book.

Twists , turns and not expected surpises
This was a great read, kept me entertained and ready for next page. All the people and dogs(of course) worked great in keeping you reading. Keep up great work. Funny, some interesting facts and adorable dogs.

Really entertaining!
I enjoyed reading this. It’s the first time I’ve read this author and I found his irreverent humor to be very enjoyable. The story had a good plot, was paced fast enough to keep you reading, and not full of gratuitous detailed sex scenes.

Funny
Interesting concept and story, I enjoyed the twist and turn making my way through. Somewhat disappointed that the vampire wasn't really really bad. And I still don't know who came to see him at last.

A bit boring
First off I will say that the MC seemed to be a straightforward and proper goody goody guy. I really liked his relationship with and reading about his dogs Bull and Dozer. However that was about the only thing that made the character interesting.Overall, this book was a bit boring for me mostly because of the following points:1. The pacing was slow filled with detailed and somewhat repetitive descriptions of the MC's mundane daily routines. Also he is a bit weight conscious and seems to pay a lot of attention to how people physically look, which is described especially when it comes to the female characters.2. The female characters are mostly all either old ladies or super hot women (and one not so hot woman) who affect "Mr. Wriggly" (pet name for MC's private part) and all of them are attracted to the MC and are basically just prop pieces in the background to fill their purpose of swooning/flirting with the hero and the hero keeps on about how attractive they are and how they make *Mr. Wriggly" wriggle. Ew.3. All other characters are very one dimensional, I know this is a light hearted book supposed to be funny but really there is nothing light hearted or funny about how boringly shallow everyone is. Neither the dialogues are good.4. There wasn't much in terms of story, no twists and no surprises, pretty much a predictable book. Ending was also pretty meh.So apart from the bit about the dogs nothing else stands out for me, I mostly just skim read the book after a point as it wasn't that interesting. Its 1 star but added star for the dogs.

Great debut
I wasn't sure what to expect but this book had me hooked early on; the story was engaging and different to other books of its type. Some of the humour has to be tongue in cheek due to Steve's former career, I personally found it refreshing.A great pick it up and read book and I'm looking forward to the next one.(The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I never give 5 stars, we should always strive for better).
