Fantastic
This digital amplifier did everything it was advertised to do. I bought it to increase the download digital signal to my computer. It works like a charm. I would recommend this to any computer user that needs to increase the download signal to a computer from a cable connection. I have used this product for almost a month now.The only negative that I see is that it gets hot during use.

Failed at 7 week mark
UPDATE-- sorry to report that the other reviews about the lack of durability of this product proved true for me as well . A little less than 2 months since installation the amplifier has failed. Probably not worth trying to get warranty support. It's supposed to have a 5 year warranty, but if it fails after 2 months I doubt the warranty is worth anything.Original review: Installed this and then re-booted my cable modem, and my upstream and downstream power levels at the modem both dropped by about 10 dBmV per the specs of the device (to -1 dBmV downstream and 43-46 upstream), so both went from the ragged edge of acceptable levels to solidly in specs for my modem's power levels. SNR stayed about the same, so no appreciable increase in noise levels due to the amp, and the codeword error rates went way down too. So everything is weighing in on the good side for now.It does run hot as others have noted, but not really hot enough to burn my fingers if I hold them on the module for 10-15 seconds, so doesn't seem like there's any real fire hazard.Glad I ordered when I did since I see it's out of stock now. But then again, I've only had it going about a week thus far, so I can't comment on durability. I've read of the comments of others who experienced failures within a couple of months. If the amp burns out prior to the end of the 5 year warranty period I'll be back to update my comments and lower my rating on it.Images show amp as installed, and one with my hand on the amp after about 10 seconds and no sounds of bacon frying (trust me! ;) )

Good value.
Very well constructed & worked exactly as advertised. Corrected my intermittent internet problem. It is great to purchase something that is faultless.

UNSURE!
It is not possible to determine if it is helping, or not. My Carrier (SuddenLink) has decided to SCREW me over on my service! They further (in a phone conversation) informed me, that the "City of Electra" has told them they are not allowed to provide any one in our town MORE THAN 1 MB/s service, because it is in Competition with there own service, the "Electra Telephone Company" and they will not allow it! (Guess they never heard of, FAIR COMPETITION! It's a LAW you know.) Don't believe me? I'LL TAKE A POLYGRAPH, WITH SODIUM PHENOL (Truth serum) and I have a witness to the phone conversation! (Had the cell phone on speaker phone the entire time!)

Works well
Works well. 10dB boost up and down. Many are 15db which was too much for my application. Max return amplification is 58 dBmV output (Spec sheet is on the electroline.com website) .Recommend Signal Levels for DOCSIS 3.0 ModemsDownstream Power (closer to 0 is better): Recommended -5 dBmV to +5 dBmV / Acceptable -10 to +10 / Max -12 to +12SNR (Higher is Better): Recommended 35 dB and up / Minimum 32 and up High SNR is more important than downstream power.Upstream Power (Lower is Better): Recommended 49 dBmV or lower / Max 51. Some newer modems can output 54 dBmV using "Extended Upstream Transmit Power".

Fixed my problems
I have the Suddenlink cable "bundle", with high speed internet, expanded basic cable, and phone. A problem developed where I could not get online, and I did exactly what my customers with HVAC equipment do that drives me crazy: Replace stuff until it works. I began with a new cable modem, then a new cable run inside - didn't fix it. Then I decided to repeatedly rearrange and reconnect cables, splitters, and my Motorola drop amp as a troubleshooting method. I discovered that disconnecting my phone and running only my modem and TVs worked fairly well, and was a suitable workaround for a while, as I dislike my home phone. After a week or two, I finally decided to find a better solution. Having the cable company come in and troubleshoot (even if it was their problem) was out of the question, as the house is a mess right now. So I researched and learned about potential causes for my issue, and found out my modem send power was 58dB (too high). To make a long story short, this amp has good reviews and was reasonable. I needed an amp with some boost on the return. Ordered it, and it fixed everything. Modem specs now good, and it all works.
