Reflective but thinner than I’d hoped
This tape (sew on not adhesive) is like a thin ribbon that is reflective. It is in fact reflective & I’ve sewn lots of it onto various fabrics. What I’m not thrilled with is that it is super thin & wants to slip around while you are sewing it. When sewing it on to heavy fabric like webbing I need to use a thicker needle & the ribbon/tape seemed a bit delicate for fat needles size 18). If I got too close to the edge it would sometimes fray. I don’t think these properties are ‘low quality’ issues, it’s just not ideal for my purposes. There are applications where very thin & flexible would be a plus. I did finish the entire roll so it was workable. I restocked with a different brand that happened to have a bit more substance to it & that was better for me.

This stuff glows like it's on fire!
I'm so glad I got this because it's exactly what I wanted! It shows up REALLY well at night, glowing a bright white. It's got a nice tight weave to it, with a smooth texture on the back (the reflective side is a tiny bit rough, but it's so slight that it's negligible), and it's light weight and flexible. This isn't a piece of plastic ribbon, where you put a hole in it and it tears the whole thing up--this is a woven material. I was able to hand sew it to a webbing purse strap with no problem and the strap is still as flexible as it was before. If I had to, I could take it off and sew it on something else and you wouldn't even know I was reusing it.I feel like it could go through the wash, but I suspect it's one of those situations where if you're putting it on clothing, it needs to be on something that either doesn't get washed often or you need to expect to replace it eventually. It feels pretty durable, but I haven't washed a piece of it, so I'm only guessing. It works so great, now I'm looking at what else needs reflective striping on it!

EXCITED TO GET TO WORK!
when i first got the package it felt WAY too light for 5 yards, but the material is just very very lightweight which is great for the project i plan to make with this! the darker side is the reflective side and from the photo i took with flash it looks pretty amazing already. i’m so excited! i’ll try to update when i finish my project :)UPDATE: i didn’t get to fully finish the harness but what i did end up with was awesome! it was also pretty comfortable for the most part. i will definitely purchase again in the future if needed for other projects :) i added two photos, one without flash and the next with flash to show comparison.

Tricky to administer but worth the effort!
Applies as a thin layer of reflective tape. Once on, sticks very well without bubbles. A bit tricky to administer as you have to experiment a bit with the heat settings depending on the fabric. It does require the higher heat settings without steam. You iron with protective transparent tape still on, then wait for the tape to cool before peeling it off . The blue layer you do need to peel off before ironing. Havent put it through the wash so dont know how well it will hold up then, but tape is definately reflective and very visible in the dark.

Is it reflective? Or is it overexposed?
There's no fair way to capture what this looks like to the human eye.The camera sees the tape as overexposed (as compared to the relatively shiny bow tie and humble sock). The human eye views them all with close to the same luminosity. This is NOT as reflective as a safety vest's adornment, for example.Do you want it for a photograph? It'll show up as above. Do you want it for a live costume? You're probably going to be disappointed.Hence the 3/5.

Good quality product
Very easy to work with and very reflective (darker side with the tiny sparkles is the reflective side). Didn’t come with instructions so I don’t know if there’s special washing requirements.
