I love it excellent quality hope they would bring back in stock

Swords were good quality and seem to be holding up well (only 1 month of playtime so far). My only critique was that one of the swords we ordered arrived with a broken handle, probably occurring during shipping. Since Christmas was REALLY CLOSE, we bought some wood glue and so far it seems to have held up.

Wood Pirate Cutlass Sword I would give it a zero star, but that option was not available.It came in one piece, but lasted one day before it was in 2 pieces. It wasn't even used in a harsh way to break like this, came apart in the air while my nephew was practicing alone.I won't even get a replacement since it arrived in one piece. SAD!!I have to pay to ship it back in order to get a refund which would cost me more.

I bought a batch of these for my band of buccaneers before attending a pirate festival. The intention being low cost and to continue the joke made in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.These are simple and sturdy. These would be great for sword training or stage work (with a repaint). I would think twice about giving one to small child if they hit things other than other swords, they aren't sharp or particularly pointy, but they are a hefty enough chunk of wood to destroy your TV, coffee table, lamp, the cat...I cut one down for my Grandson, cutting off the scimitar style tip and sanding it to a more traditional style sword tip. I little clear finish and he was in heaven... a sword like everyone else but his was special. When the festival was over I mounted it to a pirate-themed wall plaque with his picture. (Their cat breathed a sigh of relief)

The wood is cheap and splintery, the joints are rough and don't match up, and the knuckle guard was broken off when it arrived, which isn't surprising given that it's affixed to the handle with one brittle staple.My standards aren't even very high...I bought this for my daughter's pirate themed birthday party as a pinata-whacking stick. I will be shocked if this sad sword lasts long enough to smash it open. In fact, if the pinata is the first thing to break, I will come back and give this item another star.UPDATE 10/22/2013 - Okay, so, the sword earns another star. The pinata I bought was ridiculously durable (it took an adult almost 10 swings to crack it open), and, although the knuckle guard broke off again in the process, the rest sword held up with no splintering or other damage.

The Sword is great but not for good on sparring. Even the lightest swing against a commonday dresser, splits the wood at the Central Ridge (1 inch downward from the point. on the razor edge part of the blade).

So I got the notification asking me to rate this product. I asked my son how he liked his sword and he answered with two thumbs up.I asked him if it was broken yet and he said "not even a little". My son is a 9 year old little parkour-ninja monster. He received this for his birthday almost exactly a month ago. I thought for sure I would be using it for kindling right about now but it's still going strong. It's big enough for a man but light enough for his little 52 lb. body (did I mention he's a little parkour-ninja monster?). Arrived quickly and in perfect shape. Great sword, highly recommended.

I bought this just for costume fun and display. I found the sword to be reasonably well finished. The hand guard can be a bit delicate and require re-gluing to the handle. I use this mostly for display and I think it may be too delicate for regular use as a kids toy.
