I've been wearing Sperry Topsiders for over 30 years. Unfortunately, they are no longer being made in the USA.Although the Sperry Mako Topsider is a great looking shoe, with it's thick sturdy sole, which I prefer, my part started to loose shape after a few weeks of use. Six months in, they are starting to look cheap.Unfortunately these are no longer made to the same high standards as the Sperry of 30 years ago.

This is my fifth pair of topsides and they have always given good service. Usually I buy the standard deck shoes. This time I sought a higher quality Sperry Men's Mako 2-Eye Boat Shoe.These are excellent all leather, amaretto color, non marking gum rubber soles with a 3/8th heel. For the right foot only, it took two weeks to break in the back where it rubs against my heel. The tensioner on the right shoe was dislodged when I opened the package. I save for that minor mishap, I expect there would have been no discomfort at all. I will be buying this model from now own.(I do use pedag viva sport 45 sport arch support inserts.)
