Good but takes time to activate and work
Good product not it takes too long to get thick so it’s not great if you need the bottle asap

Very satisfied
So my baby was spitting up and throwing up after feedings and couldn’t hold down breast milk. I suspected it was GERD and ordered this thickener to help my baby keep the breast milk down. With a small amount (less than 1 scoop) per 2-3 fluid ounces, thickened the breast milk and my baby is not throwing up anymore. Her appetite increased and is a much happier baby. Keep in mind to follow the instructions for mixing the thickener. Shake for the required amount of time and double check the temperature if you are warming your milk or formula. Also, you might need to change your feeding nipple to a larger one or one specifically for thicker formula.

Mix works as advertised
Solid product. Our little one had troubles keeping her milk down and this mix has helped with that issue as advertised. Recommend shaking/mixing well into the milk to get the most effect and minimize any waste.

If your baby has reflux consider this
I have a 7 Week old baby. She was premature and never vomitted. the end of week 5, beginning of week 6, She started to fountain/projectile vomit. I mean it was everywhere. I dealt with it for 3 days and immediately went to the doctor. She just hit 6 pounds and I did not want her to lose weight. She can't afford it. Well the nurse practitioner immediately prescribed Nexium and said she had reflux. I agree with her diagnosis, I just wasn't a fan of the reviews and studies that were done of the medicine. Most were done 10 years ago. But the concept of trying to inhibit a reaction in her stomach just didn't sit well with me, her body is still trying to figure out how to work; why stop nature and screw her body up for the future? I didn't want to take the chance. Not only was she projectile vomiting she was fussy and screaming every time she ate. Of course after seeing the doctor the pharmacy didn't have it so I dealt with a fussy reflux baby for a week before even getting the meds meanwhile trying to find alternatives. I was already feeding her upright, burping her all the time. I couldn't lay her down at all at any point of the day or night cause she would vomit. Even if it was 3 hours after her last feed. She was vomiting 1/3 to 1/2 of her milk. (I was crazy enough to measure.) She was in obvious pain and discomfort. The meds didn't do anything but constipate her immediately and she was still vomitting (granted I didn't use it long enough to get it to start working approx 2 weeks) I don't know how I found this product, reddit i think but I was desperate a week and a half of this will make you try anything. I also began feeding her probiotics to see if it will help. The first feed mixing this with her bottle. GAME CHANGING. She didn't vomit. She wasn't crying. I can lay her down normally again without vomiting. No more arching of the back uncomfortable during feeds. I had my happy relaxed baby again. She drinks 4 oz, so I mix one spoonful of this in my breastmilk after warming it. She still spits up but its a small amount. Now a lot of reviews said it made their babies gassy and loose stools. I mentioned I started this in tandem of a probiotic so I don't know if that's what's helping my daughter but she isn't gassy and her bowel movements are fine. There is no taste, I mixed it with a drink of mine, and the consistency is perfect for my daughter its just thick enough that you can barely tell it's thickened (descriptive but its the best that I can do.) Give this a chance for your baby. My daughter also doesn't have a rash like others in the reviews.

Best for aspirating newborns
This product was recommended by my sons doctors after they discovered he was aspirating. I use it to thicken my breast milk and formula in a bottle. It works pretty good but you have to follow the instructions and make sure that the thickener is mixed well. You never know if your child could be silently aspirating because you didn't heat the bottle up enough for it to mix. The only downside is the amount of powder in the container and the price. I recommend repurposing the empty containers. It's super easy to peel off the labels and clean it out. I used mine as a portable formula storage container. Get creative and get your money's worth.

Causes constipation
Hospital recommended this for my son's dysphagia!!!! This thing is horrible caused him severe constipation and pain to the point where he cries and screams when the poop is coming. Nothing but rocks DO NOT BUY IT. Instead I will make my own thicket boiling barley oat seeds in slow cooker. Sucks bc I have a whole package left. Will try to return asap.

Game changer for amino acid formula
I wanted to leave a review for anyone using neocate formula or similarly thin formula AND for people concerned about the gelmix needing minutes to work before feeding - my son could not keep any of it down and has horrible reflux. He’s on medication and I’m not sure if the gelmix is helping his pain at all, but he has barely spit up since starting this, when he used to spit up at least an ounce of each bottle. It also only needs one minute to thicken once added if you don’t need it to be a perfect thick consistency- I just needed it to be like a regular formula thickness so I add half the serving size of gelmix, shake, add the formula and by the time I’ve sat down to start feeding my baby about 1-2 min later, it’s already thick! I was so nervous about needing to make bottles ahead and deal with waiting for the bottle warmer (my baby is NOT patient), but this seriously works so fast if you’re just trying to add very slight thickness
