Evapolar evaLIGHT Personal Evaporative Air Cooler and Humidifier / Cleaner, Portable Air Conditioner, Black

This mini air conditioner is perfect! I have had it for two full days of use and it's working as advertised. I have a little 6'x6' office in my own business, it's got no airflow and houses my computer and such. It gets to 80+ degrees easily in the beginning summer months. Having the air conditioner sitting on my table with my printer all day has made my office temperature a steady 75 degrees by the middle of the day. It puts out a good amount of cold air. You can face it towards you or just away from you to give you the ambient coolness. The color changing in the water reservoir is fun to play with too. No leaks or anything. It's easier to pour bottled water into the water reservoir instead of removing it. That could be some of the previous reviewers issues with the leaks... or they pour and miss the opening.

UPDATE 10/2/2019: after a month of daily use, it has developed a terrible mildew mold smell and is absolutely unusable. It is outside of the return window by a few days, so no luck there. I will attempt to take it apart and find out why it developed the mildew mold smell. Very unhappy with this purchase now. It performs the cooling function very well , but the device now is unusable. Please help if you have any advice.Original reviewI was a skeptic, but it does work pretty well. It uses a lot of water. Keeps me nice and cool without chilling my wife. It is fairly noisy, but about 40% power is good enough to cool you from a nightstand without being deafening . Definitely recommend.The price is steep, but I hope im paying for lasting quality and better function. The lighting effect is neat, but the control panel is too bright to ever use the light at night. Keep it in sleep mode.

This is my 2nd device (1st was bought during he initial campaign outside of Amazon; came with a busted display panel that Evapolar would never respond to fixing). Overall, I’m in an open office environment and bought this because the heater is always on and the air is dry, which bothers my sinuses and other medical stuff I do not claim to know. This devices works great when oriented towards the person. When directed into open space, it isn’t effective in cooling the air around a desk/work area. It has a nice feature with nice lights (can be turned off) and a clean, simple look. The display is very easy to use and the filter is relatively easy to change. Filling the tanks is quite is, but just go slow to avoid spills (not caused by the machine). The price is quite high and there are lower cost alternatives that appear to do the same thing, but I have not tried them out. Overall, it’s a good buy (for me), but the price and the fact that it has to be directed towards me keep it from being great.

Good product. Leaks water if you let sit still too long. Best if used with room temperature water than cold. I've gotten it down to 63 degrees in a room temp of 74-75

Just a disclaimer. I live in dry weather, so this works great for me. The air blowing out is actually chilling. I expected the product to work, because from other people's reviews it seems like this device is more optimal in dry weather, and because the people that seem to have a problem, is because they live in a really humid environment, which the device would make things worse, because it would be adding to the humidity.

I thought about only giving it one star but perhaps others have had more luck with theirs. I set it up as soon as I got it just to see how it would work. Even though I had it on an end table while I was watching TV and it was amazingly cool - standing up and moving a few feet away I could feel a major difference in the air temp (I live in Arizona so it's dry and a lot of homes still use evap coolers alone). I let it dry out so I could set it up where I had intended to use it - in my computer room near my monitors since they throw off a lot of heat. So the next day within minutes of turning it on I had a huge pool of water on my desk. I dried it up (raining on my electronics didn't seem like a good idea), reseated the reservoir firmly and tried again - same result. I dried out the cooler - per instructions - and set it up again in the kitchen. Same results. Maybe it was defective, but if so why did it work right the first time? Needless to say it was returned and I would hesitate to try again. The reservoir is a bit flimsy and warps quickly at the top where the lid sits on. Makes me sad because I had high hopes but for the price I would expect a little better quality and a longer functioning time before it crapped out.

I was excited to read the reviews on this product. However, when I received it I was disappointed to discover that the power of the cooling was very low. It does produce cool air, but unless I am within about 6 inches it is overwhelmed by the surrounding temperature.If it was more powerful I would be very happy, but as it is I will be returning it.

Don't expect to cool a room, but it works great at cooling one's micro-climate at desk. Easy to set-up and use. This cooler has done the job. I should give one to the customers who walk into this retail hell-hole so at least they'll be cool while the manager rips them off and steals their money.
