Coming home after dark, I struggled to find the right key for the lock and when I did, I would like have to feel for the key hole and then many times, the key was upside down. I told husband, there had to be some sort of little motion light that would assist us in finding the right key and getting it in the right position and….yes, the key hole! I of course, when to google and was directed to Amazon. Found it for less than $10. With the fast shipping, I received it and immediately put the battery in it and since it is a motion light, it came on right away and I would say, it went out in 5-10 seconds after I took my hand away. So, last evening, we came home after dark and of course struggled to unlock the door. I told husband PERFECT, let me install the light and we will see what the perfect spot is for it. So, we located a spot and since it is motion the light was on so we could adjust exactly where it needed to go over the lock. Oh my gosh! I went off the porch, walked up to door, opened outside storm door, and as I moved the key towards the lock, the lights came on, I turned my key the right way for inserting it in the lock, the lock and key were well lit and as I came in the house and shut the door, it light went out in a few seconds. Since we have a full glass interior door that has the locks in it, I wanted to see if the lights came on as I put my hand on the inside glass. It did not come on which was excellent. I went back outside and repeated walking up to the door and using my key and exactly perfectly the light came on showing my key and my lock. SO HAPPY WITH THIS! I am going to buy more for family members who have no light on when they come home at night and struggle to unlock their doors. BUY IT…YOU WILL THINK IT IS THE BEST EVER!!!! A+++++++ on this product!!!!

Tried multiple sets of batteries, tried cleaning the sensor and contacts. Disassembled it and found the LEDs burnt out. For what it cost, it did its Job for a reasonable amount of time.

My hallway is not well lit. I put this mechanism over the key hole, so I could see it. It would be helpful if you prepared to buy AA batteries with it.

I love this item. I am so happy I got it. Ok I must admit that I had a hard time putting in the batteries. My boyfriend just showed me that I had to slide the bottom cover off.This item works fantastic in the night it helps so much coming home at night I can just open my door.
