Record Collection Main Stay
Out of all the upgrades I have made to my record set-up, THIS product has been the only constant. I have been collecting for 7 years and this product has never failed me. Wash with water, let it dry, and it’s as good as new. I bought an anti-static brush alongside this product but that thing leaves bristles on my records, so this is the only thing that works for me.

Do not hesitate
The short version: If your records are dirty (actual dirt, oil, fingerprints) you’ll need to clean them. This won’t help much. (It WILL help but wet cleaning is often the first step)The rest of the story....NOTHING gets dust and light debris off as easily or as well as this. It’s unbelievable. It removes the dust and leaves absolutely no residue or markings. It’s so good, I really don’t need to bother with cleaning brand new or sealed/played records. I unwrap the LP, use this only, and the vinyl is QUIET. Seriously. An earlier reviewer said use it like you’re cutting a pizza and THIS IS THE WAY. Letting the LP spin while holding the roller still doesn’t work nearly as well. It seems to collect more visible dust but using the pizza cutter method gets more of the smaller debris that you really hear. Your mileage may vary, but for me, the secret to success is: One swipe from dead wax to edge, turn record a few inches, another swipe, etc till you’ve gone around the LP one time. Then play. That record is now dust free, and ridiculously quiet, if it was quiet to begin with.As I said, this will not clean your records if they are dirty. This also will not get out pockmarks, scratches or other physical damage that makes your stylus go pop. But for the price/effectiveness ratio NOTHING is better than this.My ONLY wish is that it were wider so if you do want to hold it still while letting the record spin it would cover the entire side. Just use the pizza cutter method, and you’ll be shocked how much crap it takes off of your LPs.If you do have a record cleaning machine/routine and you encounter a particularly dirty used record, use this on it first to get off a lot of the surface dirt. You’ll probably have to rinse it off right after, but it really helps. Most of my vinyl is well cared for and I’d estimate I can dust off about 10-12 LP sides before I feel the need to rinse VB off. Bear in mind, I’m starting with clean or new records. When it’s time to clean the Vinyl Buddy, running it under the faucet for about 30 seconds and using your finger to clean it works just great. After about six months some of the stickiness starts to go away but it still seems to be pretty effective. You just lose some of that psychological satisfaction... when it’s new and more “tacky”, you feel like it’s working better. Compared to record cleaners and this overall expensive hobby of vinyl, they are cheap enough that even if I actually did have to replace it every six months I really wouldn’t mind. But so far, I’ve not felt the need.I keep three of them. An older one to get dirt off of very dirty use records that I get from the dollar bin… And then two that I alternate and use every time I play a side. (That’s the key... use it EVERY TIME YOU PLAY A SIDE). When one gets covered in enough dust I go and rinse it and let it dry out and switch to the other one.So So So recommended. A++++++

If a carbon brush scares you, go this route.
If anybody is familiar with the shticky, this is a smaller version of one. It behaves as advertised, very sticky roller that picks up everything from a surface. Only downside, is the recommended directions instruct the user to follow the grooves, but since it is a straight cyllinder it is difficult to follow the grooves and keep the record perfectly still. I supported the bottom of the record with its sleeve, but I suppose saran wrap would be even more effective to avoid scratching.I cleaned up some particularly dirty records I picked up for cheap and logically speaking it improved the sound quality as dust and surface debris was no more. If a person is concerned about scratching the records with a brush, this is a solid alternative. Ideally, wet cleaning should follow after the larger surface debris is addressed.10/10 would recommend over using wood glue.

Well worth it!
First the packaging was amazing.Make sure you keep the plastic protector that's over the record roller. And I just tried the roller today and I absolutely love it. This product is perfect and was well worth the money because any time I take my vinyls out no matter if it's the first time you ever take it out or the tenth time you take you out it's always going to be very dusty with hair and all this stuff all over it. so this product definitely comes in handy.I will say that I wouldn't use this as a cleaning replacement I still own cleaning products to clean the vinyls but I use this before and after use of my records but I still am going to clean the record. but I'm using this more as a duster. When I washed it I noticed dust was just coming right back on the roller, no matter how many times I rinsed it in the water and let it dry there would still be lint on it so my tactic that I'm using to clean it is I'm rinsing it with water and then I'm letting it dry and then I'm wrapping it in in tape more specifically scotch shipping heavy Duty tape and then wrapping it around the roller till it's all covered and then I pull off the tape. And that will just takes everything right off the roller and then I put it back in the plastic protector case. But overall this is a Five Star product for sure and very worth it if you want to keep your vinyls in good condition after every use and if you want to keep your stylist safe from collecting dust and lint and it just makes the vinyl sound so much better when it's not running over hairs and stuff that makes that static noise. Hope this review helps a future buyer.☺ Also next time I pull out my vinyl I will record how I clean the roller and I'll make sure to post before and after pictures because that's way more helpful than just telling you what it does. I'm sorry I didn't add them in this review I just already put my vinyl back and I don't feel like getting it out!

Sticky af
I feel like the pictures should be good enough to convince you. Risked my favorite vinyl for this (KSG by Kanye and Kid Cudi). I’ve had this roller for exactly a year and it hasn’t lost any of adhesion after being cleaned. I’ve found the best way to clean it is getting it wet first, a bit of soap and rinsing with warm to hot water, and then I dry it by shaking it violently because if not it’ll be drying for a good minute. It’s size is good enough to clean the vinyl with the turntable off, and swiping while spinning it the adhesion as you go. I’ve also used it to clean my turntable and a counter of any dust, you can really use it for anything
