Large and generally ineffective (albeit cute!)
As a toddler mom and early childhood educator (who sometimes provides feeding-related therapy), I am always looking for great mealtime supplies.I was initially drawn to this product because it’s cute, silicone (break-resistant), dishwasher safe (because thumbs-up for anything that makes my life easier), has a mat (reducing mess), and has suction cups to hold it in place. The latter was especially important to me at the time of purchase because my little guy was going through a plate-tossing/swiping phase.Although I do still think this placemat is adorable, I rarely use it. The primary reasons for this are that two of the sections are a little small for what we need, the mat is too large for my high chair tray (the size is more appropriate for use on a table), and the suction cups do not function effectively. Because the mat did not properly fit the tray and the suction feature was weak, this mat wound up actually encouraging my son to try to pull it up and throw it. The size of the mat also makes it a bit of a pain to store and in an NYC apartment, cabinet real estate is hard to come by!We have since switched over to different, stackable silicone plates (without a mat) and those have been much better for us.

Hate it. It's huge
First, the way this is presented on Amazon I was under the impression this was a 3 pack. It's not, which turns out is probably ok. See below.Hate it. It's huge. I have the ikea high chair, it's too big and hangs over the edge of the tray. I know I am not the only person that has a strangely strong baby, so for the suction cups to be in the four corners it leaves lots of loose edges for my son to rip it off. It's more of a toy for him that happens to hold food than anything.What parents of children like mine really need is a plate that suctions to the surface completely. Get rid of the "mat" part and make the whale itself a giant suction plate and you'll have something that might be sufficient.For an older child this might be ok. Sitting at a table, but not in a high chair. Remember, toddlers are incredibly curious, investigative little creatures that will do anything they can to move an object to see how it works or what else they can do with it.My search for a functional plate for my babyzilla continues.

Strong suction
My 9 month old is so strong he can do chin ups and this suction placemat has been great for feeding him. It stays on, the three compartments help me give some variety to his food and it is nice and clean as he pulls the stuff out of the plate and onto the other parts of the placemat!

Doesn't stick to wooden table but serves well as a mat anyway
Bought this so my table wouldn't have as much food caked on to it. The table is wood and this mat doesn't really stick to it but it still serves it's purpose

Super fun way to get kids to eat!
My granddaughter had a placemat similar to this and so we ordered some more for her. This one is a wonderful size, the suction is very good, and the ability to place it in the dishwasher is priceless. Kids are messy when they eat and this placemat really helps.

Cute and functional
The color is so cute, the suction cups are so cool and work great. I didn’t measure before ordering and the mat is bigger than our high seat tray, but even just doing the bottom two suction cups works great. Very pleased with this purchase.

Wonderful
Love it! I got this for a friends baby as a bday gift and it is awesome! They loved it. It suctions great to any table. So easy to clean and wipe down. The silicone is a made very durable. I almost wanted to keep if for myself..I loved it that much.

Stays in place
Very pleased with this product.*easy to clean. I just put it in the dishwasher* seriously stays in place* my baby likes to play with it and I don't have to worry it will be dropped.* I am looking forward to using it at restaurant's. ( the sleeve it comes in seems like a good way to get it back home to wash after eating out)
