Spin Clean Record Washer MkII Fluid 32 oz

I have been collecting vinyl records for forty-five years and I own thousands of albums, including many rare and valuable copies. Maintaining a clean disc is essential for the sound, for the life of the stylus and for the life of the record. Over the years I've tried many different kinds of record cleaning systems, including sprays, vacuum machines, hand washing and wood glue. They each have their benefits and drawbacks.A few months ago I bought a Spin Clean. It's effective, but at around £75 it's expensive for what it is: a few pieces of plastic and a couple of velvet brushes. It arrived with a 4 oz. bottle of washer fluid. This is essentially a wetting agent which allows the distilled water to get into the grooves for effective cleaning, rather than just beading on top of the vinyl. Having bought over 100 used albums since purchasing the machine and also re-cleaning maybe thirty or forty of my older albums, the little bottle of fluid finally ran dry. I was surprised at the price of this fluid. It's not as bad as some of the vacuum cleaning fluids in terms of price, but honestly, at more than £1 per ounce, this is an example of the silly money enthusiasts are expected to pay for our vinyl addiction.In terms of performance, it certainly works, so Ill give it 5 stars, but in terms of value for money I'd give it 1 star. So overall it only gets 3 stars (really it's only 2-1/2 stars). The 32 ounce bottle will last a reasonable amount of time, and I'll clean a lot of records with it, but I think that I'll now formulate my own solution and share the ingredients with other record collectors.How much would I happily pay for this? I think something under £10 is much more realistic.

It do what it's suppose to do but a bit time consuming maybe design one with a handle to make it easier and quicker

When used in conjunction with the spin cleaner record cleaner, it carries out an excellent job of cleaning your vinyl record collection and lasts a very long time. Have cleaned over 200 records so far and probably used only about 10% of the bottle.

Spin Clean machines are excellent at what they do and this is the bargain bucket size of the manufacturers required magic cleaning fluid. Seems expensive but the benefits are worth it.
