Great quality and phenomenal value.
Really nice lens, bought to complement my 500mm prime. Image quality is very good, not as good as the prime, but that is 12 times more expensive, so not exactly a surprise. It's plenty good enough for professional use though and I know a fair few pros who use this lens for their work. It's a lot lighter than the prime, and a lot lighter than the sigma equivalent (the sigma is only a few hundred grams lighter than the 500mm f/4, this is over a kilo lighter than the 500!) Making it easy to carry around and much more aeroplane friendly.Reach is very good at 600mm, bokeh quality is very good but not super smooth due to the aperture. Image stabilization works very well, but I find the image jumps around the viewfinder, not like the canon implementation which is much smoother, this is a little distracting until you get used to it, but it physically works fine. It's very quiet in operation and focuses very quickly even through foliage, which the canon prime sometimes struggles with.Zoom lock at any focal length is a nice feature. Build quality seems very good, it has a slightly soft texture finish to the outside on parts of the lens which seems to pick up mark's easily, not that it bothers me as my stuff ends up covered in mud and scratches anyway, but may be an issue if you're concerned about resale value.Other than that, it's an excellent lens, very flexible, easy to carry and performs very well for the price.

Great lens!
It is an amazing lens for the price! Solid feel, excellent image stabilisation, brilliant autofocus. Very sharp even at the far end, provided aperture is above 8. There is a bit of chromatic aberration at 600 mm if used with harsh light. A bit on the heavy side, but it balances well the weight of my D810. The flex zoom lock is a very useful feature.Only two remarks:- when held on a rapid strap on the right side of the body, it is fairly easy to accidentally switch it to manual focus, resulting in missing crucial shots if you do not realise it- it is not really easy to reverse fit the lens hood when not in use. Maybe it is just me, but I seriously struggle!

Good sharpness and contrast, excellent stabilisation and portable in a backpack
Images are sharp with good contrast. The wide (for the price) f/5 - f/6.3 aperture is useful. The stabilisation works extremely well, making hand-held composition and shooting possible. Auto focus with a Canon EOS 8000D is accurate and reasonably quick. No doubt professional lenses costing as much as a small car and needing a wheelbarrow to transport them perform better, but the key to shooting good pictures is to have your camera with you and at 2kg this lens is luggable in a backpack.

Having used pretty much all supertelephoto lenses up to 600mm compatible with ...
I bought this lens about a year ago and used it primarily for wildlife photography with my D500. Having used pretty much all supertelephoto lenses up to 600mm compatible with Nikon bodies (including the behemoth of 600F4 prime) I do not think it produces results much different than the competitors. It is the lightest of zooms, produces very decent results when used correctly and will not break the bank. Personally due to its weight and versatility i prefer it over 500F4 prime when traveling. I shoot 90% of my photos handheld (BIF) and when used at high shutter speeds have no reason to complain about quality. Having said all this, as all things in life this lens has a number of relatively minor flaws: VR is not as good as the numbers or reviews would make you believe. When shooting BIF, the best results require speeds in excess of 1/2500 and ideally 1/3000, or at lest that's my experience. The switches are annoyingly easy to move so i have to turn the lens in its collar when mounted to a strap as otherwise rubbing against my leg the AF/VR and range switches end up in random positions. The lens hood is a bit flimsy and I managed to lose one while on the shoot. The replacement from park cameras was £40+ so beware. Overall I think it has a slight advantage over competitors from Nikon and Sigma due to lower weight and/or longer focal length. I was considering selling it when I bought my 500mm prime but decided against it due to the convenience and versatility it offers.

Great Value Lens
I had the previous Tamron 150-600 lens for four years before buying this one, and was generally pleased with it. After a few outings with the new version, I'm pleased I took the plunge. It feels more soild, with better build quality. It's hardly any heavier than the old one, and I can walk around with it for a good while without any problems. The autofocus is excellent, and the images seem sharper overall than before, right across the zoom range.I tend to use it for aircraft photography mainly, and it is perfect on my full frame D750, or my crop sensor D500.I would heartily recommend this lens.

Iconic lens
Superb focal range of 150-600, using with Nikon D3 and no in camera focal adjustment necessary. Producing sharp images at all focal lengths. Built like a tank and weathersealing is excellent, it has been rained on a few times and zero issues. The stabilisation is unreal, it seems to be magical. Acceptably sharp images even at 1/15 of a second in low light conditions. Sometimes hunts for focus when foliage is in the way between your subject. No wonder it is one of Morten Hilmer’s favourite lenses for wildlife. Over 90% of shots so far have been hand held the VC is that good. Highly recommended.

Awsome
Taking bit of getting used to. Heavy, I used handheld but now mostly use a tripod with it, but I'm not as strong as I used to be. Images were a bit hit or miss at the start but have improved since using tripod. Moon pics need work, captured some amazing wildlife photos

Brilliant pro-am telephoto option
AF telephotos probably don't get much, if any, better than this at this price range. With the multiple focus range selector, focusing is pretty fast instead of it trying to focus across the entire range. It's very stable attached to a 90D on top of a MePhoto tripod, but with the multiple stabilisation options hand-held results are really good too in the right context, holding the lens via its shoe. I still need to give it a solid workout in the field (frankly I need a new camera bag first that's big enough to be able to take it out!). The package includes a soft cover and large lens hood.
