Q: Does this unit pair to the car (not the phone) to play audio so you dont need aux or fm. They are shady when explaining this fyi?

I had a different model. Using android auto I couldn't get the device audio to use the Bluetooth connection to the car. Had to use the on board speaker or use the FM modulator. I returned it as the audio quality was lacking. Not sure if this model will be any different.

Q: Is there a way to have your own boot logo when when it turns on instead of that ugly one, and can turn off the chime when it turn on?

Yes there is a way to change the boot logo, although it is a somewhat lengthy process, the instructions should be on the manual. You just send the picture you want to the support team, and they send you a firmware update for the device that you then download onto a USB drive. As for the chime, I would assume the same, but am unsure.

Q: What is the height of the front facing camera to the mounting base? I need to make sure it will not be obstructed where I plan to mount the unit.

The camera on the cheaper unit is between 6.5-7 cm from the base, roughly

Q: When connected to Carplay Audio via bluetooth, is the listening microphone on the phone, the car, or this device?

It defaults to the device, but you can switch it from your phone to handset, car bluetooth, this unit, or whatever
