Exciting inflatable bed with sides, for +3yo's.
This inflatable child's bed solves my problem of how to store a spare cot for when grandchildren come to stay. This product folds down to a very compact size that can be stored easily in a cupboard or under an adult's bed.It can, of course, be used just as easily for camping and travel to stay at hotels or friends. The kit comes as two separate inflatable sections: the car-shaped outer body and its mattress, which fits snugly inside. The mattress takes a standard size of crib sheet (65 x 120 cm). One side of the mattress has a slightly fuzzy surface texture to make it softer to sleep on. This side also houses the filling valve at the bottom edge. The bed comes with a large diameter foot-pump which can inflate both sections quite quickly, taking me about 4-5 minutes each. I found that it's important not to over-inflate the mattress, making it too hard to sleep on unless a little "give" is left in it. Both sections shouldn't be too hard in any case. Also included in the kit is a well-written instruction sheet, two self-adhesive patches for any accidental piercings and a hold-all for storage. When deflated and carefully folded the bed takes up surprisingly little space. The web page states that the bed will support 310 pounds (which is 22 stone or 140Kg) when inflated, but I wouldn't recommend someone of that weight to bounce around on it! But it does mean that small children should be able to safely play on the bed and move around actively without fear of sudden deflation (provided the valve stoppers are fully pressed in).The valves have a clever 3-part design that ensures quick and safe inflation without any leakage, but allows a quick deflation when the whole valve is removed when storing. (Note: the "steering wheel" of the car has to be inflated separately from the main car base section and it's easier to do this by mouth before inflating the car.)Once fully inflated the base section is quite big at over 6ft long and nearly 4ft wide. (The full measurements are shown on the web page above). The bed makes a good plaything and a comfortable sleeping cot and appears to be strongly made. It doesn't seem to leak over several days of being fully inflated. All seams are welded. The pump is easy to use and it fits into the holdall when everything needs to be stored. The packaging is marked with UKCA and CE logos to show that the manufacturer has certified the product to conform to UK and European safety standards. For £50 I think this is good value for a well-designed product that's very compact when not in use, and good fun when it's inflated.

It has that “wow” factor!
QPAU Inflatable Kids Bed.Going back to my early days there was nothing like this bed available and so youngsters today are very lucky. As a bed it will suit a child 122cm (4ft) or under. The Car Bed requires almost the same space as a narrow double bed as it is 200cm long x 105cm wide. The inner mattress (which you insert and is therefore removable) is 122cm x 65cm.Removing the inner mattress gives plenty of scope for the car/bed to become a play den. One of my grandsons is car mad, and he must have over 100 model cars. He would certainly place them all into the car/bed! When our son visits with his family I will post another picture. The bed comes with an air pump which is quite ingenious. Your feet hold it securely with the foot rests, and both hands are used to pump up and down. The pump has two valves one on the top and one on the bottom. It inflates both on the up-stroke and the down-stroke. This is a plus as the working of the pump is carbon neutral! Our oldest grandson (11 years old) managed it with ease! There is a bonus - the bed comes in a cardboard box, and with the blow-up mattresses I have had in the past no matter how I fold it after deflation, they will never go back in the box with some hanging out and if I try and force one in the box splits! The QPAU Inflatable Kids Bed very thoughtfully comes with a packing bag (see photo) and I was able to get both the bed and the air pump into the bag. There is also included a repair patch. The inflatable Car-bed deserves 6 stars!

Bit of a wrestling match!
Good luck getting this folded up again! This bed comes with a carry/storage bag which is bigger than the plastic bag the bed and mattress originally comes in which is really important as you'll struggle to get all the air out and fold it up as neatly a when it arrives. It's important to remove the red valve part before deflating or it won't deflate at all. TOP TIP - when trying to remove all the air, fold up and lie on the car to use your body weight to squeeze air out, then quickly fold and repeat. Worked for me.As well as the bed and mattress, the set comes with the aforementioned storage bag, a pump and a set of patches to make repairs in case of leaks. All good. There's the unfortunate vinyl/plastic smell that I associate with this sort of inflatable - if it's left out to air for long enough that should dissipate. It's important to put the small pointy inflator (the one used for the steering wheel) in correctly, if you don't it deflates as quickly as it inflates - it's a bit of trial and error. The pump is actually pretty good but it does take a bit of effort - I'd do it before the little visitor arrives to give plenty of time to do a proper job. The mattress has a nice velvety texture which is smooth and comfortable. The whole thing is pretty big - I'm a shade under 5' 3" and it's almost big enough for me, so it's important to bear that in mind when deciding where to put it. Because of the size I'm not sure how useful this would be on camping trips, I see it more as something for sleepovers or staying at granny's house - my nephew would have loved this when he was younger, but since he's now 29 and 5' 10" it's probably not going to happen now. This is an interesting, quirky and fun blow up bed at a very reasonable price and I think most children would love it. Definitely worth consideration.
