This book is full of repetition and vague generalities. It is utterly useless.

The beginning of the book explains what it means to be "off grid" and obviously this book focuses on solar power options. These beginning sections include discussion of what some of your options are and how to get started. I appreciated that the author considers both large and small projects. So, there is a whole chapter on how to take your house off grid. But, there is also another whole section on how to solar power your RV, camper, or cabin. I especially liked that I can choose a smaller scale project to build my confidence. There is a great section on DIY projects you can do. These are explained well with easy to follow steps.

Providing valuable information on systems for homes, RVs, boats, cabins, and pretty much any application, this book also explores all the required components needed for a project and the legal parameters for a completely off grid project. It begins with explaining the difficulties and advantages of off grid versus grid connected systems, and ends with a plan for the design and construction of an off grid solar project. Definitely recommended!
