Action oriented self-improvement
I've read a lot of books in the sled improvement genre and this is one of my favorites for its action oriented and concrete ideas that anyone can implement immediately.1) Solid strategies for taking actual action now on getting and accomplishing what you want. Many books in the self help sphere give you lot of ideas and thought on what you should be thinking and doing but this book give you ideas and actuions on how to move those into doing and accomplishing.2) Concise and tight book. It doesn't veer far from its main premise of just DOING something everyday. It's simplistic and not revolutionary. What I think sets it apart is it goes into more detail on the how, giving you concrete examples of HOW to implement that idea. (Pomodoros, social media and cell phone usage, saying no to the things that don't matter, quizzes on your goals and what matters, etc) These may seem redundant to some but hes trying to touch on the many ways why people don't do the 1%. Some won't apply to you, others will.3) Yes, some of the personal antidotes may lose your attention, but again, most will relate and see themselves in some of them, and that will help cristalize what he's trying to convey to you4) I grabbed the audio book first and I like Tommy Bakers enthusiasm and inflection. It gets me motivated whenever I listen. Picked up the hard copy next so that I could do excersises and highlight pages. I agree with the one review that I wish there was an outline or overview with all the steps and info at the end that made it easy to "jump in" and start using the information provided throughout the book.If you have read a lot of self improvement books and feel like you already know what you need to know then I think this book is a great last step to push you into taking action. If you are new to the genre then this is a great book to help you get what you want now.Highly reccomend it for those that want to take action now if you've read other books and can't figure out where to start.

The friend who tells you the stuff you don’t want, but need to hear.
“There’s a point in every competition where a competitor encounters their real opponent and understands it’s their self.” - Lance ArmstrongThat is how I would sum up this book. It creates a strong sense of self reflections and coming to reality. So much powerful insight, reinforcing stories, and plenty of opportunities to get real with yourself. Recommend for anyone looking to move from the sidelines onto the field, and onto a winning team.

Reverse engineer your way to your dreams
If you want to be inspired to take action in a way that actually moves you forward, read this book and follow through. There are exercises to do in most of the chapters of the book, which I found helpful. I was uncomfortable working through the exercise on creating your vision because I knew as I was doing the exercise that those dreams would be something attainable if I follow the steps outlined. It's so ironic how much resistance comes up around achieving our goals and living our ideal life. Tommy's obviously writing from experience because he throws in the right advice at the right time - just when you feel like it's too much, he provides the motivation (and reasoning) to keep you carrying on. I have executed more since reading this book than I previously have with regards to achieving the goals I've set for my life. It's amazing how simple and powerful the process is at the same time. Tommy is so authentic and genuinely wants people to succeed. It's what attracted me to his work in the first place after listening to his podcast.

Fantastic.
Baker has cut to the core and either you are in or you’re out. This book resonates so much with me and gives me the steps to move my life forward 1% every day. He breaks it all down to your “why”- the thing that oozes from your pores that you want more than anything-and then it all makes sense. If you want it he has shown you the way.

Unimpressive and Utilizes other influencer's material
I've read numerous persona development books and it feels as though this author simply says the same thing over-and-over without adding substance to the "teachings". I feel as though the author also discusses findings from other personal development guru's (David Goggins, Eric Thomas, Tim Ferris, etc...) and tries to make their teachings his own in a new way (which doesn't "hit" the same). Overall, bang-average book with insights that are almost common sense - your money is better elsewhere (try Atomic Habits - way more value).
