Close up they do not look like a flame but....
I expected more of a flame appearance close up. I have them in a clear glass enclosure. At night they are pretty cool and do give off a fair amount of light. I'd guess equal to a 40w incandescent. Modes switch easily. From others I've been looking at I think I'll but these again for my other two outside lights. At least I know what I'm getting and for the money these are pretty good.

Don’t waste your money
Sucks. Ordered two. Both didn’t work. Packaging was horrible so I assume they broke during transit. They didn’t crack. They just don’t work!!!
