To build an off-road cross country bike takes discipline. One needs to know the personality of a hard-tail. The Patriot is a cross-country mountain bike designed to be lighter, more agile, and to handle a mix of climbing and descending over moderately technical terrain. We combined our Mountain Machine with the workhorse Shimano Altus drivetrain to give us what we believe is the best combination of components and frame on the market. We followed the same precedent we followed with our road bikes: build the ultimate carbon frame around components that performed best in our real world conditions tests. The Patriot is intended to be the best value in mountain bikes available. Carbon fiber is extremely lightweight while simultaneously being stiff. We chose 29er technology because its pairing is perfect for a steady and fast cross country bike. 29er is the fastest design available today. Especially when conditions are less than ideal, a 29er is going to perform the best and give the rider confidence to attack the trail. Even when hammering through corners on a steep climb, or leaning heavy on your front wheel on a steep pitch, the Patriot is stable, firm and ready to handle all conditions.
