I purchased this product to help treat pinworms / threadworms as I had read good things about it. For the past year I have been suffering with pinworms which has taken a huge toll on my mental health. I would use mebendazole to kill it only for it to return a little while later. So then I’ve found myself back to square one.Anyway, I’ve been taking diatomaceous earth now for a 2 - 3 weeks. I started with a teaspoon a day and now take one tablespoon a day with water in the morning before eating as apparently it is better to take it on an empty stomach.Initially when I was only taking a teaspoon a day I tried taking only DE without any other medication. The issue I had to begin with was that I actually noticed an increase in pinworms. I’ve read up that when they feel threatened, they go into survival mode and mate like crazy. However this confirmed to me that this must be doing something for them to react like this.So what I decided to do was to take a dose of menendazole, and then take one tablespoon every morning rather than a teaspoon. This has meant that the pinworms were killed off and therefore not mating like crazy and the increase in DE seems to have prevented them returning as they usually would have by now.In addition to this I am also maintaining strict hygiene measures. I wash all my towels, bedding underwear, clothes and pyjamas on 60. I shower thoroughly every morning, changing my towel after each use. I change my bedding every 3 days and am careful not to shake it. When dusting I put on a mask to prevent breathing anything In. I vacuum my carpet every day and steam hard floors every day. I bleach my bath daily as well as my toilet and sink. I’m also careful to clean my kitchen sides every day, using gloves to wash up, I also vacuum my sofa every day as well. I’ve cut my finger nails down and wash my hands obsessively, plus scrubbing nails, especially after using the toilet and before eating and preparing food.In terms of the taste of the DE, I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that there is not a real taste at all. It actually tastes pretty clean/pure. I’m not sure how to describe it. I’ve read reviews for other DE Powders on here where people have said it tasted unpleasant. But I think that given the quality of this one, the taste is much better than others I’ve read up on. So that’s a plus. Also, for the price, you get loads of powder. So it will last you for ages!I’ve also read up on side effects, that’s why it is often recommended to increase the dose gradually. Fortunately I’ve not experienced any unpleasant side effects thus far. In fact I’ve noticed my nails feeling stronger which is a little bonus.If you’ve already read up on DE, you will know to be careful not to breathe it in. That’s why I’m very careful when mixing it in with water. Also, it can be dehydrating so it is recommended to drink lots of fluids.I think for me, the key has been consistency, ensuring it is taken regularly. In my case, I take it every day. Other articles I’ve read suggest taking DE for a while, then having a week off. From what I understand, having DE in your system is meant to make it very difficult for parasites to thrive in due to the silica content which I think harms them. I like to uphold strict hygiene anyway for my own peace of mind. I intend to take DE daily for at least 90 days as that is what has been recommended when I’ve read up on it. I think I’ll keep using it regularly after that anyway, again for my own peace of mind.So in conclusion, I am going to say so far so good in regards to treating pinworms. I experience constant paranoia of having them due to what I’ve experienced over the past year but I am pleased to report that I haven’t seen anything since I’ve been taking a tablespoon of DE daily.I honestly felt pretty hopeless and overwhelmed, though since taking a tablespoon of DE each day, I’ve felt like a weight has been lifted. While the cleaning can be exhausting I feel a sense of relief and like I can live my life again.

I have tried a lot of de and ive found this is the best and best value for money for the size. The taste is far superior to others and the quality of the product is very fine and dissolves well. It tastes very pure with no horrid pine taste like others ive had.This tub lasts ages and the whole house has it including our cats daily.Hair skin and nails are great and also the health benefits from taking this is amazing. Everyone should be taking it as we all lack slica these days.

I would highly recommend this product for both thickening up any food you need to, as a alternative to flour. Perhaps you want a gluten-free alternative, or you are diabetic and want to cut down on carbs. This is a good taste-free alternative. And as it is such a very fine pwder, it is great for treating pests in your home. Pest control firms use this to get rid of Carpet Beetles and other little unwanted critters. It suffocates the larvae so they can't turn into beetles. I tested one in a tub, and it took over 24 hours to die. So don't just put it down for a few hours. I recommend 1 - 2 days.But make sure you leave the room for a day or two before hoovering it up, as it is not good for your lungs.I only had a small flat, so this large tub was more than enough. But if you have a 3 bed house or bigger, this will probably be perfect to treat an infestation.

I have been using DE for many years now - I find this brand to be really good quality although I feel the price could be lower.

Put this down on flying ant day when my garden was covered in activity. I applied to all the major nests and wherever I saw movement. Essentially I covered my entire lawn so it had looked like it snowed.It’s only been a few days but I haven’t seen an ant since (red or black), normally after a bit of rain I would see a small nest appear but nothing.I have a tortoise, and although we barricaded him into an unaffected part of the garden, he did escape at one point. I don’t know how much contact he had made with the powder or how long he’d been wandering out there, I couldn’t see any on him and he has also been perfectly fine.So would highly recommend as it has worked much better than pesticides powder/gel/bait stations etc I have used to date.Some criticisms though was the 1Kg tub wasn’t entirely enough to cover my garden, I should have bought 2, but time will tell.Also, buy a scoop or sieve, this will help distribute the powder in an even manner, rather than big lumps. The powder goes everywhere though, my clothes had many powder marks as did my patio, seems to wash away easily though.

Used this in conjunction with a lot of Bed Bug spraying and removing the bedstead (got a new bed) and one other furniture (bookshelf).I spread the dust about the borders of all rooms and on the carpets, under the carpet against the wall, finely and brushed it in with a broom. Pretty much everywhere it seemed they may try to get to. Bordered the bed so they`ll have to go through it to get to me. I do have a bed bug trap as well though. Best to wear a mask if it gets too dusty until it`s settled.No sign of bed bugs after 5 days. Pretty sure this was the killer since even if they escape the spray and the furniture move, and the washing/heating of clothing, they have to cross this dust at some point and that`s when it gets them. My work alone can`t have stopped them so dead. It`s the one thing that has to be the main reason why I`ve seen no more now.Will vacuum and set more down again and do so about twice a month for a month or two to be sure. So far so good.Update: 25th February 2021.Still nothing. I think I can safely say that the bed bugs are gone. I've cleared up most of this dust, (with a mop and bucket, do NOT hoover. It will kill your vacuum cleaner, mop first), but left some under some of the floor lining and refilled against any hidden gaps in the floors etc, where it isn't seen, but any creatures will likely try to go. Pretty pleased.
