Taking me Back to the Future!
This book has places that have always facinated me, I love the old west and all it had to offer. The places where Young Guns took place. The wild West. It's where we originated and on occasion, you can find an old relic left behind.

Informative!
A great ghost town book. We have used this several of times and have found the information to be spot on. The only downside is that it shows some things that are not there anymore.

Cool book
Such a cool book. Categorized by city or county making a weekend adventure easy to plan out. Not all towns are ghost towns but offer an old west charm.

A great read!
My mom opened this book on Christmas and was finished by the next morning. She kept spouting off with factoids and is already making plans of places to visit!

Sadly, returned!
I m not sure if I should fault the author or myself. I saw, I bought. I did not take advantage of reviews or even the snippet of what the book was about. To me ghost town means just that an empty desolate town that's no longer. This book is about small towns with old architecture and old fashioned ways of life. Tourists towns basically, and most that I have personally been to really do not belong in any book. I suppose they do technically fall under the catagory of ghost town but this book was just disappointing my own fault for having the wrong expectations just wish the author would have decided on a more fitting title so buyer beware. If you are looking for a book about small towns with a niche in classic American tourism, places to grab a bite to eat and visit with the locals this is a great book. If you were hoping for a hike or a truly abandoned town the Internet would make a better reference.

A Great Source of NW History
I'm very interested in the history of the Pacific Northwest so this book is right up my alley.

This isn't really about Ghost Towns.
Ghost towns are usually abandoned, and one has to hike to them or take small dirt roads to get to them. These towns all exist still, but in smaller form after their main industries dried-up. Apparently, the photographer likes older architecture and graveyard photos. None of these towns are really abandoned or have disappeared. The book makes no mention of Wellington, WA, the most haunted ghost town in Washington, which was the site of train accident that killed 93 people. It's not in Google Maps even. One has to hike the Iron Goat trail railroad tracks to get there.I'm debating whether I should return the book or trade it in at Half-priced Books.
