Fantastic interface / midi controller
I've been using this for a few months now. It's the first interface I've owned and I hadn't used a DAW before. MeloAudio's support was very responsive and helpful getting over these initial hurdles.Using it it seems to have the perfect set of features. It allows 2 inputs (either 2 quarter inch mono or 1 quarter inch mono and 1 XLR) which works great for 2 guitars or one guitar and a mic.The 8 foot switches gives a huge range of variety for control. I use the top four for controlling recording / looping and the bottom four for effects. For output you can use the headphone line out which is great for quiet practice or running into the line in on your amp. Going into my Line6 spider this gives stereo sound with no effects, not even volume control. However the Tone Shifter has its own volume knob for the headphone output so it's no problem at all. If I want to use the amp's effects I can instead run the quarter inch output from the Tone Shifter to the amp which makes it work like any other pedal in the chain. My current signal chain is guitar -> wah pedal -> Tone Shifter -> amp. It sounds great and is very versatile. I highly recommend the time Shifter to anyone that wants an interface or is looking to spend a few hundred on pedals but doesn't know what to get.

Don't buy. The manufacturer is gone and there is no Windows driver to be found
This sounded like a perfect way to transition my studio rig (Amplitube) to stage as it is a midi controller and audio interface. First problem: hidden in the booklet is a single sentence: "Requires a driver for Windows." No information on where to find the driver. Looked online, and all links to the MeloAudio pages for this (and any other music hardware) are all "404 Not Found." It looks like the company (or at least the part that does midi/interfaces, their site still has things like headphones) has gone out of business. This device will not work on Windows. As long as I had it, I did a test with iOS comparing it to my FocusRite Scarlett, using the same guitar, software and settings. Compared to the FocusRite, the TS was darker, a bit muddy and it sounded like it had a bit of room on it. The FocusRite was right in your face and super crisp. The Mesa Boogie patch sounded like a valve amp on the FocusRite and sounded like a practice amp on the TS.I returned it the same day I received it.

Versatile and Easy to Use Controller/Interface
This is a really cool device and it is quickly becoming indispensable for me. It can cover a lot of bases that I have been looking for really well:- Compact, configurable, 5-pin MIDI foot controller- iOS audio interface and foot controller- Laptop USB MIDI controller (and in a pinch, audio interface)As a standalone traditional 5-pin controller: B+This is about 90% of what I was hoping for... solid construction, 8 buttons, several built-in modes, and two user programmable modes. The form factor and construction are an A+, TBH. The primary failing is that the user modes' programmability is not super deep. The build is great: I absolutely love the metal construction, feel of the footswitches, and the button placement is about as compact as you possibly make an 8-button footswitch without making it too small. As noted, there are a few 'deep' programming features I wish it had but really, the default configurations are really well thought out (I have four of the devices/apps covered by the defaults), and there are a couple of modes that allow you to configure it as a general purpose MIDI CC or PC message sending foot device. So I am pretty happy overall. Some of the missing functionality is additional control over the CC values sent (because of this for example you cannot configure this to select scenes on a Fractal AxeFX without changing the AxeFx's configuration substantially) and the ability to switch modes or banks. That said, for most functions like controlling my Atomic Amplifire, Bias FX on the computer or iPad, or issuing program changes with the Axe; this thing rocks and is solid.iOS interface: B/B+I had a few stability issues with reboots on the Audio interface on iOS with high output levels. With some help from support this was tamed and I have gotten a ton of use out of this as a footcontroller/interface for an iPad Pro. Running this into a power amp and a guitar cab using Bias FX with the cab modeling turned off is crazy. It feels like the rig of the future. Super cool! It has a good preset for Bias FX and my other Fave Amp Sim, Amplitube, did not have a preset but it was easy to get it setup with the Bias config.Laptop MIDI controller and Interface: AThis really does everything I want in this realm, I have a more expensive desktop interface but this is great for a laptop or as a backup. The sound quality of the interface is good. Noise floor is good. It is stable and seems to be low latency (I run it at 32 buffers in Mainstage/Logic). And as a latop controller, it provides all the control I need on the computer and the compact package means it works with either the DAW or the laptop. Very very nice, love it.Overall: A-/B+This is a great tool and gets tons of use across a couple of different rigs for me. The support was very good and the construction feels good. Defaults are well thought out and has some nice features (see David Walliman's youtube video as well for some more feature overviews). The overall feature set is quite amazing for such a small, solid, inexpensive package. Definitely glad I picked one of these up and can recommend it.Support was excellent. I asked a bunch of detailed questions regarding both the hardware and deep configuration of the MIDI capabilities and the response was timely and courteous. All my questions were answered even very esoteric stuff most users would not care about. They have no US based staff so there were a few language issues in correspondence but overall, I give them an A+ here. The core feature set provides a ton of value. It suffers a bit from the ‘jack-of-all-trades, master of none’ syndrome but depending on what you will use it for it can vary from ‘okay’ to superb.Highlights:* The form factor and general construction is awesome. 8 buttons in a unit this compact is great. It feels crazy solid. The metal construction and foot-switches are great.* I love the size, all metal construction, high quality footswitches, the spacing is just right to make the unit small but not so small you cannot hit the buttons reliably.* The default foot control layouts for the different apps and devices are well thought out and many users will not really need to do any programming at all.* The Audio interface: Very nice, latency seems good, audio quality is good, sample rates etc are very good spec. Class compliant with Macs and iPads. Stereo In and Outs, balanced/unbalanced operations. Perfect!* Having BOTH 5pin MIDI and USB MIDI is really appreciated. I cannot believe how many competing devices do not have this! It makes the device so much more useful if you have a lot of different equipment. You can plug this into a computer to control DAW/software or you can plug it into a MIDI preamp/processor with the 5 pin and rock out.* Low power: I cannot believe this thing can be powered by an iPad. And the ability to power it externally to function as a stand alone MIDI controller is so nice. A couple of other competing products do not support this. It is really the only footswitch type unit that can be powered by an iPad that I know of.* Adjusting the levels with the knobs displays the actual level on the display. Love this. Allows me to remember certain settings for different devices, computers, etc.* The knobs acting as buttons (mute, boost) is very cool.* XLR in/out for the ‘R’ channel is a nice touch.* The position of the jacks was clearly though out.Lowlights:* Programming is somewhat kludgy.* Power cycling is required to change modes, would be a lot better with a rotary switch or something.* There are some significant limitations to the MIDI programmability. (set values for latching, no multiple value (scene) momentary switches, no ability to set incremental program changes).* Experienced some funkiness on iOS when used as an interface (rebooted when output clipped)* MIDI cannot act as a 5 pin MIDI interface for iOS.* English manual could use a second edit from a native English speaker; it is complete and covers everything, though.* The biggest tablet you can slot on the in-built holder is that 9.7” model the 10.5” Pro or any larger model will not fit. This is not a big deal to me since I would mount my tablet on a stand, I do not want it on the floor.* I like the independent L1 and L2 out control but I have a stereo power amp and sometimes it would be nice to have a stereo 'master' level control. Outputs L1/L2 and Headphone do not seem to have much drive/power.* Inputs are kind of hot on iOS. Had to adjust levels down to control noise when using gain on guitar amp apps.Special Note: Support was excellent.

So close
I had high hopes for this unit. On paper it seemed to be a perfect match between interface and something that could even be used live if need be. The build quality was top notch but unfortunately I had to send it back because the device didn't include the OTG adapter. I ended up trying an apple camera adapter which didn't work and though the company quickly sent me one of their's it didn't work either.

Just what I was looking for with Bias FX
Excellent all-in-one interface and midi pedal for Bias FX mobile. Easy to program, sounds good, tons of options, and seems very sturdy. I currently run it through a Headrush FRFR 108 and it makes for a very nice sounding, compact, scalable, and crazy versatile setup for the money. Highly recommend for digital, traveling, bedroom, and other musicians looking for a light and easy rig.
