I love this product, before this i wondered why my succulents died. Now i know i probably watered them to often. With 3 in 1 soil meter i know exactly when to water my plants and not over water.

Easy to use, easy to store in original packaging so that the chart is handy to refer to.

All these years I thought I had a green thumb but when I changed from clay and plastic pots a year ago now I am having trouble keeping them alive. Seems ceramic pots do not take as much water so I have been over watering my plants.

thought this would be handy because i live in Phoenix, AZ and we have very alkaline soil here, I also just got done with a semester of classes on plant biology and soil chemistry and I can tell you for certain that this thing IS A PIECE OF TRASH. I went out and tested the soil around the house, which if you live in the valley and want to grow anything other than weeds you acidify the soil, at least somewhat, because our soil here is very alkaline. first place i checked and it comes in at a 6.0, which i thought was kind of odd, so i checked another place, 5.5, now i'm getting suspicious because i know my efforts haven't been that successful, test yet another place and the reading also comes back as acidic. so i went away from the house and to a place where the soil is undisturbed and undeveloped, a place that should be alkaline for certain, nope, 5.5. so convinced i have a piece of crap on my hands i go inside and get a glass of water, rinse it out, fill it with tap water, 5.0. HA. fat chance tap water is that acidic. so to confirm i have a genuine piece of crap on my hands i get a different glass, rinse it, fill it with water, put in a tablespoon of baking soda, stir it, test it, 4.0-3.5. CONFIRMED. what a piece of trash this thing is. i wish i hadn't waited so long to test it. this thing is a rip off, its not faulty by accident, this is by design or total disregard for the quality of your product. its testing, its measuring and its giving results and they're consistently wrong...by a lot. RIP OFF!!!

Be sure you understand it is only for testing soil and not water plus the light meter is too limited to be of much value.

Worked for about 1 week and then the dial got to where it would not go past 3 on the moisture scale. Would switch to light and hold in direct sunlight and dial would not move more than that third of the gauge. Seemed to work OK to start with but did not hold up. Not sure how accurate the pH really was but it would read around a 6.5 most every where in the yard.

All three features work. As with most lower priced PH testers, leave it in the material being measured for quite a while, I suggest stick it in and go do something else for 15-20 minutes.
