The F3F has a big barn-door front opening, a zip-around top opening which optimizes it for PRC-117 type radios, MOLLE/PALS compatible webbing up the sides, and two exterior front pockets. This is a great all-around 3-day pack, but we named it the FAC Track because it is the best-in-class pack for Forward Air Controllers. Handles on 3 sides make it easy to pick the pack up, especially when retrieving it from your vehicle. Includes G1RC Rain Cover, stowed in a zippered pocket in the bottom of the pack. Other features include: interior back-wall radio rack with 3 antenna portals, vertically adjustable "shooter's harness" with 3D mesh for varying torso lengths, numerous small pockets and organizers, Gossamer polycarbonate frame. Five hydration compatible pockets. Ready to mount two AN2P or AA2FK pouches, or one A3SB Saddle Bag on each side (sold separately).

Beyond a 5 star.
Years ago I heard of this company after eyeballing some of my associates' packs and accessories. Upon researching some or their products, I was thrown aback by the price. After going through several common packs and perpetually agonizing over their faults in design, materials and workmanship, I sprung for the FAC pack. Upon opening the package, I was instantly confronted with a product of such superior quality, that I was embarrassed by my choices of packs in the past. I thought of the countless uncomfortable to miserable hours spent using common packs of lower prices. The unending frustration of all the shortcomings of their design, materials, workmanship and functionality. The quality of DESIGN!, MATERIALS!, WORKMANSHIP! and FUNCTION! of this Eberlestock FAC pack is unlike anything I have seen in a pack since the early 80's. Nowadays, too many companies simply toss allot of compartments and Molle webbing onto a hastily designed pack and call it good. Everybody wants a tactical looking pack, but virtually none are up to the actual task of use and abuse. Not so with Eberlestock. This FAC pack is designed to be lived in and become a part of your body, not like some alien creature clinging to your back and perpetually torturing you.I was very pleased how the internal frame system held a load and put the weight directly onto my hips. Even after several miles, it does not sag, lose shape, or settle onto my shoulders. Gone is the need to perpetually readjust the pack for comfort. My posture has notably improved whilst hiking as well.I love the fact that there are not a boat load of stitched on compartments. I can put on accessories where I want them, and if I want them. I can arrange this pack to be trim and slim so it doesn't hang up on rocks, twigs and limbs. Or I can put on several accessories to meet the needs of a longer, or more complicated outing.Basically, buy a common pack and suffer endlessly - maybe even quit getting out altogether. Or buy a real pack and enjoy every outing every time!

Bombproof pack. Just not comfortable!
Bombproof pack. Super quality stitching and such all the way around. MY personal issues though with this pack were significant enough to sell it and ended up going back to my old USMC ILBE pack. I made some significant modifications to my ILBE and now it carries the same load (around a 40-48 lbs winter loadout including food and water) I had in my Fac Trac pack but much more streamlined and comfortable. My biggest issues:1. The bottom, side, drawstring "pockets" are entirely useless. I knew going in they were small and I realize the main purpose of these pouches are for holding a gun stock in place but they are even ridiculously too tiny for many stocks! I couldn't really put anything in there. I hate water bladders and carry canteens. You cannot put any size canteen in there without it falling out. The large elastic pockets are much better on the ILBE. Just in one pocket I can have my 64oz Klean Kanteen, easy access multitool, headlamp, and a tinder pouch without worrying about anything even accidentally falling out of it. These pockets just need to be larger and taller.2. The padding is over the top in some spots and too little in others. Don't get me wrong, it's a comfortable pack UNTIL you start cresting over the 25 lbs mark. The lumbar pad is SO padded that it pushes all the weight farther away from your back and starts causing problems. The shoulder straps are too thin padding IMO. I realize this design is if you're wearing plates or trying to shoulder a long arm with the pack on but that's really never been a problem of mine and I don't wear armor these days even if I could (or should!). These crickety bones don't need any more weight on them!3. Not enough compression straps to cinch all the weight as tight to your back as possible. This ties in with #2 lumbar pad pushing everything far way from the back. You only get ONE, large center compression/cinch strap and it just does not do anything for you other than protect the zippers from pressure on them. Needs more, exterior, large compression straps that span both across and vertical on the pack to really pull in the weight of items you may have stored in the outer pockets.4. The quick adjustable yolk system is awesome but I feel like it's torso length adjustment maybe too small for guys that are tall. I'm a short guy (5'7") but do have a longer torso with shorter legs. I had to have the torso adjustment to be maxed out to be reasonably comfortable where it should be. Maybe like two more notches added higher to be safe for taller guys.I'm so glad I didn't prematurely sell my ILBE! I was super excited about my first Eberlestock but it just was not comfortable at all for me. I do a lot hiking in mountainous terrain all year long including hunting in the same terrain and I can go miles with my modified USMC ILBE with heavy gear. The same routes I'd make maybe a mile and half with the Fac Trac and just start feeling thrashed and in significant pain. Being a partially disabled USMC veteran with significant spine and neck damage I feel the pain long before less broke guys will these days and unfortunately this Fac Trac reminded me! Too bad as it's construction and materials are top notch. The amount of external compression straps on the ILBE used to annoy me at times but now I see how useful and vital they are to really flattening out the pack and weight close to your spine.I'm glad I did make the purchase as it forced .e to reassess my old pack and modify it in ways that made it better for me. I would personally look for other designs if you want to go Eberlestock!

Love This Pack But...
I love this pack. I bought it in Multicam but decided maybe I should upgrade to the big top. I hunt with a .308 and I can’t strap it to the side of this pack. It won’t work. It’s too heavy. So I sold this pack to a friend who loves it, my only problem with the big top pack is it doesn’t have the solid molle webbing like this does, it doesn’t have the external pockets like this does, for the price there’s a lot of things it lacks compared to this, so I plan on ordering the military green variant of the FAC and making it work somehow. If the big top had the qualities of this pack, just bigger, I would’ve ordered it yesterday.

Built like a tank
This is my first bugout bag and I'm very happy with it. I wanted to purchase another Eberlystock but my budget didn't allow it. As soon as I unpacked it I could feel the quality in it. Needles to say I can fit everything I want in it. In the future I will be purchasing a bigger pack from Eberlystock.

Serious pack for serious folks.
Very, very high quality pack. I've used it extensively by now for hunting and backpacking, and everytime i load it down to capacity. Very comfortable and durable. I can't speak too highly of this product. If you're reading these reviews, just pull the trigger. You won't regret it.

Awesome bag
This was my second eberlestock bag. My first being the X2. I really like the potential of this bag. My first trip out was a 5 mile in 5 mile out 2 night trip on an established trail. The trail was moderate difficulty mainly due to several fallen trees that we had to go over and around. The pack was very comfortable. I had no back fatigue at all. I had a minimal amount of shoulder fatigue after the trip, most of which I attributed to chopping wood all weekend. The main compartmemt of the bag doesnt have a lot of give. Its pretty solid so you cant really squeeze any more space out of it. So its nice that it maintains shape, but would be nice to fit something a bit larger inside. I added a 3 liter pouch on the side with molle strapping and attached my bush knife on the opposite side with molle. Between the 3 liter pouch and the bags compartments I had more than enough space for all my gear plus food and water. Along the sides of the main compartment are full length pockets. These are great for packing longer thinner gear. A fishing pole, smaller rifle like a .22 or such, tent poles, I put my axe inside one, head out unfortunately. The compression straps are absolutely useless as compression straps. The bag just doesnt flex so theres no need to compress the interior contents. However they are fantastic for lashing more gear to your bag. I attached my tent to one side and my jacket to the other. Over all I really like the bag. Wasnt quite as awesome as I had hoped. But it was still pretty awesome. If it was a little bit cheaper I probably would have given it 5 stars.

It's comfortable and easy to adjust to any preferences
I use this backpack more than any of the other seven or so that I have, and I use this one the most. It has proven to be the most versatile and modular pack I've had. It has also been the most rugged and durable. It's comfortable and easy to adjust to any preferences. It fits over a full size plate carrier/chest-rig without hassle. The internal straps and divider make it easy to distribute weight and cargo at a fly. I can fit a full size ballistic helmet with ear protection and other cool guy things attached plus a fully loaded Haley Strategic D3CR 7.62 with some space to cram skittles n other cool guy accessories. Then I still have this huge lower area at my disposal that I like to shove random things that I think I'll need but probably wont like a pocket chainsaw, or one of those lifestraw things(who can't find water at the range) and other objects that perpetuate the image of me being super prepared for when Red Dawn actually happens.Anyhow. This ruck is the bees knees and if you don't have one you suck and aren't very operator. Hell, I think I remember reading that those cool ass Air Force TACP bruhs use e'm so nuff said
