Awesome, Low-priced, easy-to-fly, 1080p, Contixo F20 quad-copter Drone!
The Contixo F20 is an easy-to-fly, awesome drone!Would I buy this drone again if I had it to do all over? In a heartbeat! It gives big drone capabilities at a much lower price while providing much better features than many drones costing $200-$250.My husband and I need some aerial photography of our 40 acre homestead in Northern Arizona. Henry says: for a number of years I wrote technical articles for Intel's "Intel Inside" publication. One of the pieces that I wrote covered automated control of model helicopters (and planes). When we decided recently to do some earthworks on our property, we knew that we needed some aerial photos to help us map water movement on the property. A drone seemed like the best way to allow us to get those pictures, but spending more than $1,000 didn't seem like a good idea. We searched for lower priced drones that were capable of 1080p video and offered a 15 minute battery life. She found the Contixo F18 drone while we were out of state, and we decided to order the D18 once we were back home.I discovered the Contixo F20 as I was verifying ordering information for the F18. The F20 looked better, and we ordered it. Delivery from the vendor was prompt and as promised, which gave us a positive impression. For under $300, what could we expect?Opening the box gave some positive surprises - the Drone and accessories were packaged in the same fashion as much more expensive units - including a hard-sided carrying case. The drone itself had terrific fit and finish. The full package includes an additional set of propellers (I guess pilots WILL have accidents), propeller wrench, one battery and USB charger, remote controller (pilot controls), a Quick Start Guide, and full assembly/operation instructions. The Quick Start Guide was good, but I found the full instructions to easier for me to follow. The full version seems long, but it is very easy to follow. We live in Northern Arizona and are in the "monsoon season" where we have high winds, so I've had to wait for a "low wind" morning to fly the drone. Today was the inaugural flight day. Pairing the drone and controller was a snap once I fully understood to put the done battery in AFTER turning on the controller (that's why I switched to following the full instructions). Performing the compass orientation procedure took less than a minute, and we were ready to fly. We took the drone into the south yard where we have a 100x100 foot clear are where I could fly around. The one button take off was impressive to watch as the drone smoothly lifted off and rose into the sky. I flew the drone around in the clearing to get a feel for the flight controls. Easy enough to use, if a bit nerve wracking as the wind began to pick up. The 5 minute flight was fun and instructive. Landing was a piece of cake! Just press the auto land and the drone gracefully settled to the ground and shut off.The Contixo F20 has a number of "peace of mind" features that I can't wait to experience: Return To Home, altitude maintain, distance limits, and most important to me: low battery return to home. Some of the features that are of most interest to me center on the use of GPS waypoints. By setting up a series of points that the drone is to fly through, I should be able to set up specific flight routes that I can use to map the same terrain on multiple days in different conditions. Did I mention the use of a microSD card to record images? It's nice to record images within the controller app, but the ability to record directly onto a microSD card onboard the drone provdes a way for me to archive flights.By the way, downloading the app for my iPhone (6s) was painless and fast. connection between the iPhone and pilot controls happened so fast that at first I wasn't sure that it had worked. This app performed flawlessly so far!So what did I give up to save more than $1,000?1. smaller control range - meh, no big deal2. 4k camera - can't use it now anyway3. fixed optics (zoom etc) - not needed for what we are doing nowCould I see a day when we might want to eliminate these "limitations"? Maybe. But in the meantime, it sure looks like we've saved $1,000 and bought a product that meets our current and near term needs.Suggested additions to the Contixo F20: battery life (as with ALL drones) is limited, say 12 minutes of real flying time. Buy extras! I'm about to order 4 more batteries to permit a full hour of fly time in 10-12 minute blocks. If you are flying in a remote area (like we live) add a lithium battery pack to recharge depleted batteries. Consider buying additional USB chargers for the flight battery, that way you can have more than one charging at a time.Would I buy this drone again if I had it to do all over? In a heartbeat! It gives big drone capabilities at a much lower price while providing much better features than drones costing $200-$250.

Battreies Swelling and NO PHONE SUPPORT
Bought this product several years ago and I've only charged it may be five or six times and now the batteries are swelling, one is swollen so bad I cannot put it back inside the bird, the other is swollen to the point where I'm afraid to stick it in the bird, as I may not be able to get it back out! I tried to contact Contixo, but they have dropped her phone support, which does not bode well in my experience, so I'm still waiting for a reply I would suggest finding another vendor if you're looking for Unmanned Aerial vehicle UAV!

BUY THIS RIGHT NOW. JUST DO IT. :o)
The media could not be loaded. Β I've had a few of the cheaper drones so I've had some experience flying (and crashing... a lot). I've lost a drone in a tree (more than once) and had them blow away in the wind.So I'm going to start with my first impression of the Contixo F20.The first time I flew it, it was windy. Very windy. I didn't want to fly it in the wind but I really wanted to test it out. So I started it up and to my EXTREME PLEASURE, the drone hovered in place even in the wind!!! It made small adjustments to stay where I put it. I was shocked. So I got a little braver and flew the drone around and I was able to fly it, have it follow me on auto-follow mode, have it automatically circle me, and fly it way above the house (like seriously WAY above the house). ZERO problems in the wind. Very stable.Next let's talk about the camera. Very clear 1080p picture and video quality. But here's the AWESOME part (I don't recommend buying a drone without this feature). The F20 has a button that makes the camera point straight down or any angle in between. So basically I could show it looking down at me then zoom WAY up in the air and then come back down with the GPS system keeping it right above my head. Awesome images of the house, neighborhood, and MILES around me.That TINY white dot next to my house is me.The software is easy to use and it even has live video on sent to my galaxy note 5. Quite frankly I don't know how it sent the video to my phone from so far up in the sky (I really took this thing way up.).That said, it also has an auto return based on GPS in case you get out of range. The F20 comes with an awesome and light weight protective carry case that houses all your accessories and extra blades (all included).Highly recommended!!! I'm also going to review it on my Youtube channel (in a few days) at 'Rated R Cars' in case you want to check it out.EDIT: I just finished my detailed review with lots of beautiful footage on Youtube. Just type in Rated R Cars and you'll find my channel. I'm uploading the review here but go to Youtube for clear video (Amazon compresses the videos).

Accurate, fun, decent camera.
The drone is really great. It resembles other manufacturers but I've tried a few of them. This one seems better responsive and the camera is slightly better. My only complaint is I wish it uses non 5g wifi since my main phone doesn't have 5g. I need to use an older phone as the video. The GPS stays connected. The case is very handy. It is not aluminum as one would think from the picture. It is plastic, aluminum painted. The inside is well protected by precut foam. Won't survive being stepped on but protects drone from dust, moisture, and accidental knocks. We use it for farm surveys to plan animal pens.I have contacted the company, Contixo, for a minor issue and it was rectified quickly. There has been previous complaints the company has no customer service. BE PATIENT! We have emailed back and forth often but sometimes takes a few days for a response. They're very polite, clear English, and work to make their customers happy. Will buy Contixo brand, again.

This drone is beginner or hobby quality and is very good value for the price.
To get a properly functional drone you need the gps, hover, return to base features. This unit has those. Next thing you need is an adjustable camera, from front to straight down. This unit has that feature. This is really the lowest price for something that you can use, but it is still a hobby or beginner drone. Problem is picture quality, but as a hobby unit you can expect less that professional results. Video is a bit choppy and stills are poor resolution. Video rocks quite a bit when you change direction. To get over these problems you need a gimbal for the camera and higher resolution but that puts the price of a drone up around $1000. This unit is really good value for the price. It performs as advertised. Only complaint is battery life and charging time, which is common on these items. Best to order two extra batteries with the unit.
