ElectrolineEDA-2400 4-Port Cable TV HDTV Signal Booster/Amplifier (Retail Package with 5-Year Warranty)

Purchased this unit due to long cable runs from the antenna to the telelvision sets. Using this concert with a Channel Master CM7777 pre-amplifier. We have a 100 foot run from the antenna to this distribution amp and another 30-75 feet to different televisions in the home. While the Pre-amp proved to very strong, 175 feet is a long way to push any signal. We placed this unit in our service room about 100 feet from the antenna. Signal is strong to every room in the house with no signal degredation.I would reccomend this unit to friends and family and will likely purchase another for our vacation home. Great product, simple to install.

Seems rare these days to find that you've purchased a product that exceeds your expectations. The EDA-2400 did just that! I'm using it to amplify over-the-air HDTV signals and the results were stunning. Due to a combination of factors: the wavelength of HDTV signals, terrain and density of obstacles (buildings), I'm on the fringe of what you can (reliably) receive from over-the-air HDTV broadcasters; so this amplifier was a must-have. I did some rudimentary test and this baby kicked butt! And the quality of construction was rock-solid! What's even more interesting was how low the price was, when compared to other video amplifiers. I can't speak for CATV applications (which this unit is primarily designed for), but when it came to putting together a my attic-based antenna system, this was the perfect fit. From here, I'll be moving on to tweaking the antenna's orientation, for optimal reception of the HDTV signals. Can't wait to see the results!!!

The product worked well; my reception with no 2-way passive splitter before the amp is the same as my reception after installation of a passive 2-way splitter, one branch feeding the amp, the other my cable modem.The instructions on the box indicate the cable modem could be fed through the amp, but the instruction sheet inside says to use a passive splitter. I wish they could either get their story straight, or explain the pros and cons if there really is no clear answer.The listing does not make it obvious, but the power supply plugs in indoors (120 V AC) and is routed through a coax to the amp, which could be outdoors, becase the housing is weathertight. Just be sure to use waterproof coax connectors if using it outside.You supply your own mounting screws and coax.

Finally decided to cut the cord to cable and used this to connect all TVs to the antenna in my attic. Works great, no problems at all. Bills game come in crystal clear. What more can you ask for? GO BILLS!

Replacing EDA 400 failing after several years. Installed after Christmas, worked for approx 2 weeks. Then, cable internet sporadically began losing connection, but TV signal continued. Attributed to TWC internet problem. TWC said no system problem. Continued and more often. Replaced cable modem. No joy--kept failing more often. Had TWC tech check cables, replaced some cable, tightened connections. Still internet failed, but TV perfect. TWC elevated to cable engineer who placed signal traps and concluded my wiring was failing, most likely any powered splitter. Over next hour I replaced cables while he tracked signal over their computer feedback. All direct connections and all manual splitters worked perfectly on internet and TV. During this troubleshooting Internet would NEVER work through the EDA 2400 (though the EDA 400 worked on internet for many years) OFF COURSE, ALL THIS TROUBLE SHOOTING USED UP MY 30-DAY RETURN OPTION.I have found out why Electroline discontinued this product. Don't buy. If you do, at first hiccup, however minor, SEND IT BACK!!!

I don't understand any negative reviews. My cable TV signal was just okay for non-digital signal. When our cable provider went to digital, we could not tune in anything except on the one TV that had a HD VCR. The cable provider provided mini-HD boxes that would receive the digital signal - but the received signal was just too weak to even activate the mini boxes. I put this in line and hooked up 4 cables to it. What a difference! All TVs could be activated right away and the picture is great. Without this signal booster we had nothing. With it we get everything. The set up is so simple even I could do it in about 2 minutes. I may buy another for another similar installation. Super.

The 4 Port amplifier didn't work as good as the $40 Archer amplifier that I had ended up putting the old Archer back on.

I just put in an HD antenna system (got rid of cable finally - woot!), and I had some long coax runs from the rooftop down the the basement and half the length of the house. Also, I had splitting going to four different TV locations. So, I bought this preemptively and ran the coax into it after about 50' of coax run. It splits to the sets from that point, some sets are another 50' away.VERY easy install; the easiest part of the whole system. One of the RF ports is actually for power - very slick. The power transformer for the power outlet plugs in, and then has a coax hookup. There is no power cord per se - you just cut coax to length and run it to this device from the transformer. Due to this approach you could run the power from inside to outside very easily. Then you connect the feed to the unit, and up to four coax lines coming out, and you're done. There are two holes if you'd like to secure this to a wall or joist with screws - hardware was not included. The TV farthest from this unit gets an excellent signal, that is after a 50' run from the roof to this unit in the basement, then another 45' or so along the ceiling to the TV. The signal strength for the stations on that TV are all at the top end; transmitters are about 8 miles away.
