Scale Prevention Replacement Filter Media for Scale Sentry Salt-free Softener Systems (1 liter) for

I installed 1 liter of this WATTS media in my 20"x4.5" refillable filter cartridge with up flow configuration. Works well to condition my city water that is prefiltered with a 0.5 micron USwater filter, and a GAC filter. Good up to 4 GPM.. The conditioning capability is limited a water hardness of 20 Grains. Free Chlorine over 3 ppm will also reduce its effectiveness and will damage the media. The only specification I have been unable to locate is the maximum level of Chloramine this media can work in. My City water is mostly Well water with some surface water combined.Update to my original review: 3/20/2020. The original order of 1L is still working as expected conditioning the water and significantly preventing accumulation of Calcium on my sink and shower fixtures. Since my water usage is 4-6GPM and my city water uses Chloramines, and even with a GAC prefiltering, I am expecting to replace the media after about 18 months of use. The Chloramines is known to dramatically shorten the life of the Media.

I got 1 liter for my big blue cartridge. 4.5" diameter and 20" in length. I have a custom cartridge that allows me to do this. 1 liter doesn't fill the cartridge and it shouldn't. This filter media requires room to flow in through the water as it moves in the cartridge to make it more soft.It has helped my water significantly. Dishes come out of the dishwasher better, no more major hardwater spots and all that other goodness of having softwater. Improved life of your shower heads!!I was told this media would last for 1.5million gallons of water at a 4 gallon flow rate. Shower heads are 2 gal or smaller (assuming you added the reducer). It will last YEARS! :D
