At first my dog hated it because he felt like I was putting a muzzle on him. After we walked a bit down the road he tried getting it off quite a bit even rolled on his back to use his paws to get the loop off his head, but after about 1/4 mile down the road he learned that he could open his mouth and it wasn’t restraining him. This is our first week using it and he is honestly doing so well. This is the best training collar I have ever used. It teaches them to walk beside you and not pull at all . He is even doing better with seeing other dogs he pays almost zero attention to them. Rather than getting super excited and pulling on the leash. I would recommend this to everyone. For a puppy or even an older dog with bad leash behavior. My dog is 2 years old and it was almost an instant behavior change.

Pros1) Has a metal buckle with metal eylets cannot come loose around the neck2) Lead attaches in back of the neck provides even pressure on the nose strap. No pulling to the side3) Easier to put on. Attach the buckle around the neck, clip on the lead, slip the strap over the nose. Bam, bam, bam, done.4) Better built. 1" collar with beforementioned metal buckle, nicely placed d rings.5) When nose strap slips off more secure. You still have 2, 1/2" nylon straps around the dogs neck.Con's1) Very easy for the nose strap to slip off. I've found I have to keep a small amount of tension on the lead or he can slip the nose strap off with a simple dip forward of his head. Counter productive to leaning to loose leash walk. My 90lb Bernese Mountain Dog has figured out how to slip the nose strap. He has also figured out that if he pulls with the strap off on it goes again. In that aspect maybe the slipping of the nose strap is a training aid.2) Difficult to put the nose strap back on. You have to pull the strap out of the small yellow slip clip. Hard to do with fat fingers and a wiggly dog.3) Sizing is on the large side. I carefully measured his neck behind the ears like the directions said. Chart said a size 6. It works but the collar has to be 4 eyelets in. A size 5 would have been better.

I can honestly say that when my dog trainer recommended this product, she knew exactly what we needed. All I can say is WOW. I have 2yr old pitbull that was always pulling (he would walk me and not the other way around) until she told us about this product. With the right training, and with this specific collar guess what, I can honestly say I am back to walking my dog and not the other way around. Listen, this collar is kinda pricy but well worth it. Use this in conjunction with dog training to get the results you seek specifically if your dog pulls you constantly.

Still slides down on the neck but works well.

You get what you pay for. I purchased cheap versions in the past and had to repurchase. Canny Collar seems to be a quality product.

This concept is so good but unless you keep tension on the leash at all times, the muzzle loop slides off. This loose leash is essential for teaching dogs to...wait for it..."walk on a loose leash". You can't relax the leash and let the dog sniff and stroll, important to loose leash walking. If they had designed it in a way that secures the muzzle strap under the chin, so that it cannot slide, this would work well. I just sewed the muzzle strap together behind the yellow guider. That works great! Needs a re-do. I suggest the Newtrix dog Halter instead.

We were going to resort to a pinch collar for training when this was recommended....works remarkably well. Other than an attempt to scrape it off the nose when it was first introduced, he got quickly accustomed and it is very effective for training purposes. He can go without it now for most training after just a couple of weeks.

My 120 pound Mastiff was impossible to walk.He literally was dragging me down the road.I just got canny collar, he was a bit annoyed with strap on his face, I loosened it so he would not feel it till he tried to pull. Its an amazing purchase. We are so happy to be able to go for walks. Love it.Highly recommended from us.
